Whatever may have been the REAL cause of the mishap, what we will now see
is 'CYA' in its purest form, with a designated scapegoat (whether an
individual or whole department waits to be seen) 'taking the fall'...
If the engineers WERE such bumbling stooges in the mold of Larry, Curly,
and Mo, arbitrarily utilizing Imperial measurements in some instances and
metric in others, one would think we'd have seen many more mishaps much
closer to home before now...
If one accepts this 'confusion over metric/imperial' argument, then one
has to wonder how the thing made it to Mars at all....
