There are various ways to market a religion / belief system /
obsession / scam. Besides the traditional mind-control methods
[drugs, implants, subliminal suggestion / hypnosis, traumatic
brainwashing / love-bombing, etc] there are techniques to gain
public attention & approval, usually by gaining media exposure:
1. Bribe your way into popular entertainments.
2. Commit public atrocities to gain notoriety.
3. Spam media/commo nets with proclamations.
4. Buy control of media outlets.
It's also possible to operate "below the radar" of mass-media:
5. Promulgate rumors, domestically & abroad.
6. Hijack existing groups to spread your message.
7. Develop disciplined cadres of operatives.
8. Infiltrate and subvert governing bodies.
But even energetic implementation of such techniques doesn't
guarantee success. Note that classic Marxist/Leninist disinfo
marketing strategies/tactics managed to attain short-term gains
in terms of thought- and territorial-control, but were unable
to prevail against a materialist system that actually delivered
material results. The same techniques, when employed by holy
hucksters, succeed because the payoffs accrue AFTER one's death.
The lesson is clear: if you're going to market a system, DON'T
PROMISE ANYTHING TANGIBLE! Sell the sizzle, not the steak.
Always structure your claims so that you have no dissatisfied
customers grumbling that they'd have done better somewhere else.
CONTINUISM will succeed if it's entertaining enough. A well-
produced cosmology that includes sex/drugs/music should suffice.
