Over the past three years and since the advent of Hale Bopp, I have noticed an incredible increase in comets and near earth asteroids. It is actually quite mind boggling at the number of comets there are right now in the vicinity of the earth! Also, I was informed by a contact that Area 51 had an evacuation last Wednesday. The cause was said to be due to a chemical leak. However when I began thinking about this, I immediately thought of this new Calif quake. This evacuation came only a day or so before the quakes began to hit. There are two reasons that this could have occurred. First thought is related to Harry Mason's "Bright Skies" article that we have posted on the page. There are several very large miltiary bases located not to distant from the area of the quake. I'll leave to you to draw your own conclusions there. Second, over the past week we have seen a dramatic increase in solar and related activity. We have seen two hurricanes (Irene and Jose) organized in a day each. Absolutely unheard of. The weather in Southern California has been extremely dry and the air full of static electricity. In fact last thursday, I went around telling everyone that it was looking like earthquake weather! The experts say that's hogwash! But the environment was perfect for an electrical discharge. The atmosphere/environmental conditions have been prime for a couple of weeks now and the charges do NOT seem to be totally disipating. So keep an eye open for earthquakes and increased weather disasters around the world. Yet another story! - Today the sun decided to once again kick its heels up. We had a Kp index of 8!!! This is extremely high. The Aurora went to ten! That's the highest on the aurora scale - maybe it went higher, we just can't record it! I say the Sun, however all indications from the SOHO images show that the sun is relatively quiet for this degree of local activity. So the question is, where is it coming from???? You want my two cents worth? We have seen indications lately that reflect that ORCA is back. This is my guess - and yes it's only a guess! I'll be posting an article and some pictures very soon. The other choice? Well, I don't believe that Comet Lee is finished with us yet! And there are so many comets, as I stated earlier, there must be some effect.
