Rothschild to provide financial services in Israel
TEL AVIV, Nov 10 (Reuters) - La Compagnie Financiere Edmond de Rothschild
Banque, a unit of Edmond et Benjamin de Rothschild Group, said on Wednesday
it had opened a subsidiary in Israel to provide financial services.
In a statement the bank said its Israeli subsidiary, Edmond de Rotshchild
Investment Services Ltd, would provide asset management, venture capital and
other financial services to Israeli investors and foreign clients who want to
invest in Israel.
The new subsidiary is due to start commercial operations in early December.
The statement added that the Rothschild Group was planning to set up its
first venture capital fund in Israel, which would focus on making initial
investments in early-stage high-tech companies.
Senior officials of the group, including the Baron Benjamin de Rothschild,
will be in Israel in late November to launch the new subsidiary, the
statement said.
