Note the part about self-appointed officers and read Art. 1 Section 8 about who is allowed ot appoint officers of the militia (the state, not self-appointment). http://www.jj-johnson.com/r2k1.htm RESOLUTION 2000 Part 1 of 3 This three-part essay will explain in detail my opinions in restoring liberty to this nation based on my experience. I will give opinions that will be controversial. I will give ideas on what can be done effectively. But before any new structure can be built, we must remove the wreckage before laying a new foundation. This essay has been written to help, not hurt Second Amendment associates across the country. We have all seen what works, and what doesn�t. It�s a New Year. �Let�s make some New Resolutions. The most devastating weapons today being used against militia groups are the �groups� themselves, their adversaries� ability to gather information, and the ability of their adversaries to act outside public view. This has been proven in case after case. When I mean �militia group�, I am NOT including those who�s members are immediate family. In making this New Resolution to secure our nation�s freedom and our personal freedom, we will address these three issues (In three separate parts). This should clearly explain to everyone why I am advocating a complete dismantling of the "militia movement". Before you jump to any conclusions, read this entire essay, and then make your decision. PART 1 - The Militia Group Itself. What these groups have advocated people to do for preparation has been done by millions of Americans (this is why the militia is deemed a threat to the powers that be). The "militia movement" however, will probably never get credit. The units that were created, both public and private, were created with the best intentions. Most Americans, whether they like it or not, are part of the U.S. un-organized militia. And the legal justification is clearly outlined in Title 10, U.S.C. 311 of the U.S. Code, as well as the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Reality: That and $.25 won�t buy you a round of ammo in the Year 2000. If you are in a militia group, you are deemed by your adversaries as a �domestic terrorist�, a �co-conspirator� and a �menace to society.� Good luck trying to convince a jury otherwise. If or when you are forced to walk into a federal court, you have already been determined to be a "threat" to everyone in the building just by your presence. The legal documentation you carry in with you is irrelevant. But here�s what�s worse: Before your arrest, if you are in a militia �group�, you are a target for a charge of conspiracy, even if you committed no crime. I didn�t make up these rules, nor do I agree with them. But if you are in one of these groups or organizations, that�s the game you�re in. This is the mandate given to the Joint Terrorism Task Force. We�ve already gone over what it takes to be charged with a conspiracy. But we�ll go over it again. Doing exactly what the militia was intended for is a "federal crime" in 21st century America. They don't have to target you, just others members of your group or organization while you're in audio range. But in order to have a conspiracy, they must have at least two people. The snitch doesn�t count. By dismantling your �group�, you take way one of the most effective weapons they have (and have used) against you. [I wish I could scream that last sentence to everyone. Just read it again.] Public statement sayings �we quit� is not enough and not necessary. The �informant� will still be there, even if you and your eight friends just decide to be quiet about. If you have signed a document saying that you are a member of a certain militia, rescind it, now (unless you have written approval from your Governor or local Sheriff). That means write up another document, sign it, and make sure a copy gets to all the other members. If your group has been public, make it public. This is proof that you �withdrew� from any conspiracy. The Libertarian pledge works pretty well as a starter or boilerplate: �I hereby pledge and do not advocate the use of force to achieve political of social goals...� If you are part of a "pro-Constitutional" group, this pledge should be adopted as part of your charter anyway, if you have one. Every officer of that group should sign it, and file it into the public record. Sounds like you�re giving in? You�re not. This will just thwart the investigation on you that is probably already ongoing , put the "informant" out of business, and put you on a better foundation. I am only telling you this for your own good. Let�s go over this: You are not a member of any militia group, regiment, company, cell, battalion, division, command staff, special operations group, alpha, bravo or Zulu team, strike force, alliance, advisory committee, or unit. You are an American citizen, and hopefully a registered voter - period. If you cannot accept what is written in this paragraph, you will make some assistant U.S. Attorney very happy someday - long before you ever fire a shot. [Hard pill to swallow, isn't it?] The damning type of rhetoric at some of these meetings must end, now. This means talking about "what to do when the U.N comes" is over. No more discussing strategy and tactics for counter-operations against you-know-what, and you-know-who. No discussions about how to make something go �boom.� Out are discussions on weaknesses of military base security, windows-of-opportunity, black helicopters, and the pros and cons of a 17-inch shotgun barrel. No more Class 3 modifications just to impress your friends (you don�t need to waist all that ammo anyway). And get rid of any evidence that backs all these charges. [No, I am not pointing a finger here. If these discussions never took place in your presence, just make sure they never do.] As a matter of fact, it�s NOT fair game after Martial Law is declared. Even if it is, who needs to talk about it? No more wishing that society would be better off if certain well-known people were �whacked,� and all that other stuff that does nothing to secure our liberty, and only warrants a federal assault. [That�s right � Serious housecleaning.] Loose the uniforms, the group name, the patches, the insignias, the titles, the ranks, and yes � all that so-called prestige that goes with it. These are points against you, and everyone else. If Congress or your State Legislature did not give you that rank at any time in your life, take it back to the military surplus store. [Mad yet? You're not half as mad as the feds who are reading this.] If you want to train, go out for target practice, then field-strip and clean those weapons. They probably need it. No problem with families (entire families) camping in the brush for the weekend. Try jogging, swimming or bike riding. A lot of us probably put on a few pounds hanging around these computers anyway (author included). All these things should be encouraged. Leave the booze at home. No �packing it in on Sunday morning.� Say some prayers, and read a little from a Good Book. It helps. Learn how to survive out there. You may have to, someday. In the Marines, it�s called �improvise, adapt and overcome.� What is proposed here is merely adapting to the �battlefield conditions� as they exist. I know there will be a lot of resistance to this. So, I will end this section with a little parable� You are at the intersection of a busy street. The �don�t walk� sign has changed to �walk�. You have the pedestrian right of way, and you have all the documentation on you that verifies it. Your �right of way� is written in all the law books. Yet there is a high-speed truck racing through the intersection�s red light as the sign changes to walk� There are other options � other ways to cross the street, but some of you will choose to �exercise your right of way� regardless of the high-speed truck. After all, it�s the truck, and not you, that�s breaking the law.
