_The problem with Elites_
...is that they have accumulated too much power and wealth. They are
addicted
to both, and as a result have become mentally unfit to rule.
Capitalism, the economic system of choice for those with too much
capital, is
now the first or second human generated cause of environmental
destruction.
The bottom line is NOT cost, or profit. The bottom line is that if
Capitalist
elites continue to manage the resources of the world, the generation
growing
up now will live in a hell that their parents did not protect them
from. If the
next generation can't wrest control from the Rich, then it's probably
not an
exaggeration to say that Homo Sapiens will not and should not survive
as a
dominant species.
The question then becomes, will humans survive at all?

Knowlton (which firm "greenwashes" corporate images), makes a strong
case
that environmentalists should NOT take compromising positions. I found
it on
page 24 of William Greider's 1992 book "Who Will Tell the People". It
makes
clear the reason that corporations go to such lengths to keep the
environmentalist message spin-doctored or censored altogether.
