The results of the malathion spraying may last a lot longer. They sprayed Dieldrin (sp?) in several cities in Pennsylvania to fight some beetle or other. I believe they sprayed it twice. The cancer rate (especially breast cancer) is one of the highest in the nation. The spraying took place a long time ago. The cancer surges on. Don't worry, be happy.
