PATRIARCHAL ORIGINS
There is at least circumstantial evidence in support of the hypothesis
that the peoples whom we describe as patriarchal were once a special caste
or "guild" in earlier Near Eastern civilizations. They seem to have been
a 'taboo' group, 'branded" and set apart, like Cain --whose name, by the
way, means 'expelled"-specializing in the risky skills of smelting (fire)
and slaughter of arimals (bloodletting) for ritual purposes.
Not only this, but, because of their indifference to pain and death, they
provided manpower for the first militias of early Near Eastern Empires,
developing eventually into a distinct warrior caste. Careful reading of
texts from 2000 BC suggest that, from male-bonded and therefore exclusive
solidarity among themselves, they became an autonomous power and at last
rose in revolt against their own rulers, who were temperamentally
unprepared to resist storms of violence. (Archeologists examining the
corpses of their victims note that they seem to have submitted passively,
without resistance.)
Abraham's departure from Ur coincides with the collapse of its 3rd Dynasty
in civil war -- an event equivalent in its time to the fall of Rome. At
the same time, in the northern colonies of Babylon, the ancestors of the
Indo- European tribes were also rebelling against foreign rule. Indeed,
given evidence of widespread communication amongst all Near Eastern
peoples, it is apparent that there was a international revolution as all
these warrior bands made common cause -most likely at the crossroads of
Harran, where Abraham sojourned-- and one by one overthrew the
bull-worshipping "matriarchal" Near Eastern empires.
Those empires not destroyed were transformed, assimilating the first wave
of invaders or adapting to the new threat of violence. In Egypt, for
example, there was a priestly civil war (marking the beginning of the
Middle Kingdom) after which, in defense against the Hyksos invaders, the
Pharaohs evolved into warlords. (The Hykaos, a Semitic tribe, were finally
driven out around the time of Moses.)
The fragmentary manner in which ancient history is usually presented
obscures these connections between "local" events existing on an
international context.
One of the facts proving contact and the intermingling of Indo-European
and Semitic populations is that the Sanskrit alphabet developed from the
Phoenician during this period.

COMMON PATRIARCHAL RELIGION
What is not commonly known is that originally both I-E and Hebraic tribes
worshipped identical Ram-Gods of Fire (fire from Heaven - lightning,
thunder), Blood and War. (Even in Egypt in period the ram-headed Amon
became the chief deity, with the death-god Set second most popular.) The
I-E invaders of India hadttheir fire-god Agni, evoked in the sacrifice of
a white ram. in he legend of Phrixos, Jason and the Argonauts' search for
the Golden Fleece belonging to their ancestors, a ram-cult is indicated.
For example, archeological studies (supported by Greek myth) demonstrate
that the Argive mycenaeans revered the ram as a symbol of royalty, i.e.,
the warlord caste.
Among the Hebrews, the internal evidence of the OT itself indicates that
the god El (or Elohim) originally was likened to a ram and was worshipped
by the passing of a lamb through sacred fire and by the spilling of its
blood. 'El" translates "high "I in the sense of high-leaping: 'Elhim"
(cf. Elohim) has the literal meaning of ram, the high- leaping animal,
strong in hi butting horns. There is the substitute-sacrifice of
Abraham': firstborn in lamb form, and the ritual Passover lamb,
celebrating the time when lamb's blood smeared on doorposts spared the
Hebrews from the Angel of Death (God) during their revolt against the
Pharaoh. These conclusions are obvious.
Considering the fact that priests of this period were also astrologers, it
is no coincidence that --at this precise period-the New Year's Sun (rising
on the Spring Equinox) moved out of the constellation of the Bull and into
that of the Ram.
However, the ram was not the only symbol used. The ram was, to be
precise, only the Son of God, his general. ('Israel' can be translated
"God's general' or 'God is the Army.") God the Father, the deity of the
Sky in which his Son (lightning/storm) reigned, was universally
represented as the Eagle or similar bird. The Hebrew "spirit of God'
ruach in proto-Semitic means 'eagle," hence the Arabian Nights' mythic
'roc' bird. Father Sky Zeus had his eagle form just as the Vedic (I-E)
Indra his "garudall thunder-bird. What is of particular relevance here is
the eternally recurrent symbolism of the Eagle of Empire in the heraldic
symbolism of patriarchal nations in the West, whether Rome, Germany, or
the United States.
THE SANCTITY OF METAL AND WEAPONS
As the "hardest" of all metals, iron (of meteoric origin) was a sacred
substance. ('Hard," of course, has virile connotations.) Rocks with iron
content (meteorites) become the black stone of the Ka'aba, the contents of
Athenals aegis, sacred stones noted in the OT, and even the 'stone fallen
from Lucifer's crown" appearing in Von Eschenbach's description of the
Holy Grail in Parsifal, which describes the "underground church" of the
Knights Templar, the Soldiers of Christ at the time of the Crusades.
Swords forged of iron were indeed what permitted the I-E and Hebraic
tribes to conquer all others in the Iron Age. "The Chalice and the Blade'
is thus an appropriate title for a book (by Riane Eisler) on
matriarchal/patriarchal history,
Otherwise, a knife of flint was the standard sacrificial tool. Both in
Egypt (where it was a hieroglyph for the death-god Set) and among the
Jews, circumcision (ritual substitute for, paradoxically "freeing the male
member from its female foreskin,' was performed with this tool, which was
also used in other sacrifices as well.
It was revered, in fact, as a sacred symbol.
PHALLIC SYMBOLISM
It is important to distinguish between phallic symbolism in the Near East
and its equivalent in the patriarchal West.
The Orientals attributed '.matriarchal" qualities to the phallus , as a
giver of life-giving liquids and a stimulus to the awakening of
natural-growth processes such as estrus in cattle and the rising of sap in
plants. Semen was regarded as the male complement to milk, holy water and
seed.
By contrast, patriarchal symbolism stresses ejaculation as thunder and
lightning, lust as fire, and the erect phallus as an ssive tool -- a
weapon.
Moreover, the virile member quickly became an abstract rather than
concrete (embodied) symbol, suggesting values expressed through (but
originating "beyond") the sexual organ -aggressive force, "will," power.
It rarely became a separate object of reverence. This is in keeping with
the patriarchal distaste for the flesh and for "sensual" sexuality.
Phallism was transferred to "sublimated" ("higher") mechanical substitutes
such as tools and weapons, and the "drive" animating the thrusting phallus
was projected outward and above --again in disembodied form-- as Energy or
Cosmic Fire.
WAR AS PATRIARCHAL RELIGIOUS RITUAL
Alongside the symbolic ram/lamb-sacrifice by priests in the temple, the
shedding of the blood of nonbelievers (the Enemies of God) by the
warlord-king was regarded as an equally "sacramental" act. Which is to
say --and this is a fact of momentous significance-- that the collective
human sacrifice we know as war is a religious ritual in honor of the
patriarchal God!
In the patriarchy, the warlord-king and his army of followers become, in
effect, the priests of the patriarchal God. Generally in the I-E world,
only a warrior might become king, under God.
Taking a modern "secularized' view of warfare, which incorrectly regards
it as 'universal' and 'natural,' most of us fail to grasp the essential
nature of this phenomenon, the central characteristic of Western history.
Originally, and sometimes even today, the act of killing another human
being, an "enemy' --in God's name, no less-- was an e c static religious
experience (like its antithesis, sexual ecstasy) for patriarchal warriors
'possessed' by the God of Destruction and acting as his agents in the
world.
Those who fully grasp the meaning of this fact may themselves have a
"revelation," in which they encounter, face-to face, the existential
reality of the patriarchal God. This can be terribly disturbing, to say
the least. -- even if we choose to say His reality lies only in the
'collective unconscious" of true believers, "inspiring' their wills,
frightening enough when seen acting in mass-unity
The ultimately ecstatic" nature of violence gives us insight into the
archetypal power of common patriarchal themes --the 'Evil" Enemy who
deserves to die, the "glorious" or "holy' War, the willingness to risk
sacrifice oneself in order to kill the Enemy, etc.-- over men-s minds
throughout history, even today. It also enlightens us as to why such
behavior so often occurs in the context of religion, "in the name of God,'
as with modern Fundamentalists in their espousal of war against "godless'
Communism, or (NB) among those modernized OT patriarchal warriors, the
Israelis at war with the Palestinians.
We tend to underestimate the mindbending power of religion, since we
"moderns" have discounted the power of "Gods" among US. Thus we remain
ignorant of the true sources of "merely political" behavior -- in fact,
blind.
More will be said on the subject, so here I will say little.
RITUAL WARFARE and MARTIAL ASCETICISM
Little direct evidence survives of I-E practices among the archaic Greeks,
but based on what we know of Vedic ritual warfare, we may make certain
general assumptions.
In the Upanishads, for example, the sacrificial priest kills the lamb (or
horse) and chants again and again, ecstatically, 'I am become Death."
Lengthy exegeses explain how this ritual permits vicarious union with a
God beyond death, allowing one to transcend this hateful world of flesh
and form through a taste of the Void. One is reminded of Oppenheimer's
quote on seeing the first nuclear explosion:. "I am become Death,
destroyer of worlds." Same God, same vision.
Note, by the way, that in ritual murder in its original form the slayer
identifies with the victim --experiencing death vicariously in the act--
just as in religious rituals involving the slaughter of sacred animals
representing the god. The warrior has his origin, remember, in the "holy
butcher" (comparable to kosher priests) who officiated at those
ceremonies.
In having chosen, categorically, to kill rather than be killed,
patriarchal man has unfortunately become inured to the deaths of others.
It is this fact which is what makes him so much a threat to others, to
life and to this planet. He prefers the void to Life, which says much
also, by the way, on the fraternal relationship between ascetic life-
denying monks (and later scientists) and their more outwardly murderous
brother warriors.
For those who wish to probe even deeper into the meaning of history, it
also suggests a secret affinity between the slayer and the slain, the
martyr who goes to his death with open eyes, e.g., Christ, Gandhi, et al.
More will be said later on the "two paths' of Caesar and Christ. In the
Imperial ritual of the Mass, the Roman Catholic priest likewise plays the
role of both slayer and slain -- but fundamentally, his is the active
role.
Examining these facts further, it is apparent that the ritual involves
(although vicariously) sacrificing oneself to God. The warrior prepares
himself for possible death on the battlefield, willingly because he is, in
effect, already dead.
In war, the State or Empire (under the Father, the Imperial Eagle)
commands obedience unto death, by the way, because death is the source of
its power and its chief instrument of expression.it is important to note
that the Ram (or Lamb) as Son of God (with whom one identifies) must be
sacrificed to the Father, submitted to His will, yet, in the process, so
long as one lives, others --surrogate victims-- must do the dying.
The subtleties of this ancient patriarchal "theology" have long ago become
so confused in practice that this is all we need to know at this point.
Only later shall we deal with esoterica.
BLOODY SACRIFICES to THE PATRIARCHAL GOD
In the ritual of the Levitical priesthood, presumably transmitted by God
to Moses --and the Law of God in orthodox Judaism-- before roasting the
lamb (preferred above other animals) on the fire-altar, the high priest
must kill it and spill its blood, sprinkling it ceremoniously upon the
white of his robes.
It is enlightening to read the OT passages describing this mandatory
method of worshiping God (God's command) and then compare it --a logical
but forbidden quantum leap-- to our popular image of voodoo, black magic,
or "Satanic" ritual. The two are one and the same.
This is not to imply that Jews are "Satanists" but it does, in fact,
suggest that what we see here is the true face of the Old Testament
(patriarchal) God.
This God we normally visualize in more gentle terms (if at all) confusing
Him with the Christian "God of Love," whom early Christians held to be a
distinct entity, or possibly the old God in a new, "reformed" mood.
Nevertheless, the OT accounts of the Old God's blood-thirst, ruthlessness,
etc., accurately reflect Eh-e behavior of His "appointed" rulers
throughout the course of history in the patriarchal West.
One notes how easily fanatic Christians (dwelling primarily on the OT,
curiously, as "the word of God") pass into a kind of psychotic
megalomania, identifying with this deity. it is obvious, also, how wholly
responsible the Jehovah figure is for continual wars and persecutions and
general unceasing violence, "justified' (sacralized) by religion. [And
later, through displacement, by the "secular religion' of ideology --
another subject of discussion but one I will pass on here.]
The psychologist Jung noted the 'eruption" of the Wotan archetype (a
Teutonic variation of the same patriarchal God) from the "collective
unconscious" into the dreams and fantasies of unaccountably large numbers
of his German clients, simultaneously, in the 1920s before Nazism. Food
for thought.
A MYSTERY: THE END of TEMPLE SACRIFICES
It remains an intriguing and much debated question among scholars of
Jewish history why, given unbending loyalty to God's Laws in the Torah,
orthodox Jews after the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD discontinued
their traditional practice of ritual animal sacrifice such as described.
To abandon that practice, commanded by God, should be the greatest sin of
all.
The customary explanation is that the destruction of the Temple was God's
way of saying "I changed my mind," and it was no longer necessary.
However, there are many objections to that conclusion, and it would be
reasonable to assume these same objections would also be raised by
ultra-conservative Jewry.
One such objection is that, if a Temple were needed, there was an
alternate . one in Alexandria, acceptable to the high priesthood, which
(here my research is shaky) apparently survived long afterward.
The other is that --in a religion where only a prophet could speak for
God-- no one of authority then existed who could authorize such a radical
change -- unless Jews had ascribed such stature to Jesus, who was, if we
are to believe the "official" history that has come down to us through
much rewriting, on the contrary soundly rejected as a heretic.
It is profitable to question the historical accounts of the time (all of
them Roman, and filled with discrepancies, very suspicious indeed) as a
"coverup" for something, but to discuss this issue would take us into
altogether another realm, with its own story to tell. By applying
investigative research to history, one may pick many locks to doors which
we assume are closed . . .
SECRET SURVIVAL of PATRIARCHAL SACRIFICE?
One may ask, purely conjecturally, whether there existed factions of
ultra-orthodox Jews who took issue with the stream of Jewry which has
continued to this day and who did continue the traditional form of worship
--i.e., ritual animal-sacrifice-- in secret of course (being a displaced
and suspect race) and in territories other than Judea. Neither Judea, the
center of a genocidal campaign by Rome, nor Alexandria was safe anymore.
Why should there not be? I raise this question with no intention of
answering it yet---merely to provide background for other observations.
There were persistent rumors throughout the middle Ages about Jews
performing bloody human sacrifices (allegedly of nonbelievers) in secret
"Satanic" rituals. (It is good to keep in mind that any non-Christian
worship was branded as the work of the Devil -- obviously "projection," in
view of how "Satanic' Christianity's own God really is.)
History provides us with no evidence in support of that claim as above
stated. Jews (as known today) justly find those charges to be dangerously
inflammatory, fueling a malicious antisemitism, and completely untrue if
applied to themselves.
Nevertheless, unaccountably given the lack of evidence, those rumors
persisted, impossible to squelch.
One possible explanation is that someone simply read the Bible and
imagined, reasonably, that a traditional practice at one time the rule was
still part of Judaic religion.
Another explanation, for which there is at least circumstantial evidence,
is that someone --no longer Jewish per se but of questionable cultural
identity, alien among Imperial Christians-- was engaging in secret ritual
sacrifice, and not in honor of "Satan" but in honor of the patriarchal God
as He actually --historically and in His own scriptures- - presented
Himself.
What was going on (if indeed it was going on) would presumably be
difficult to judge by our conventional morality then and now.
However, it would appear to be the patriarchal religion in its original,
and therefore purest, form. Given its survival intact a such a late date,
this might suggest a priestly caste possessing thorough understanding of
the theological considerations involved (such as noted in these pages) and
therefore quite extraordinary minds, attuned to the workings of ultimate
existential power in the real world.
If this were the case, then, logically, they would operate not only in
secret necessarily, but at the highest levels of worldly power . . .
TRUSTEES of THE ORIGINAL PATRIARCHAL RELIGION
As it is, two groups (both in close association) answering to this
description have actually existed-- documented and recognized by
mainstream historical scholarship.
Not surprisingly, each has been accused of atavistic sacrificial rituals
(of human volunteers as well as animals)--as well as homoerotic practices,
the latter accusation gaining in significance as we proceed.
Moreover, rather than being unfounded (as in the case of Jews in general),
some solid and much circumstantial evidence exists---in the best
historical sources, no less---that these accusations were proven.
Furthermore, both these accused groups assert that they are Jewish by race
[which is meaningless, "Jews' being believers in a particular faith] but
not by religion -- having their origins in an apostate form of worship
anathematized and persecuted by the Elders of orthodox Judaism at a very
early period in Jewish history.
By any currently existing definition of Judaism, acceptable to Jews and
Christians alike, they could not be considered Jews at all. Similarly,
they could not be considered Christians.
One consequence of this was that, for want of any better label and in
unanimous outrage, both Jews and Christians rejected them as heretical and
"Satanic" (Islam alone, by the way, acknowledged their legitimacy, for
reasons which would take us off on yet another historically fascinating,
but unfortunately [for our immediate purpose] tangential, discussion.)
In their own defense, however, they astonished everyone by making the
counter-claim that they were practitioners of the pure form of Judaism,
with Judaism the apostasy -- and further, that, by virtue of this "fact,"
they possessed the understanding by which Jesus Christ could be welcomed
as an integrally Jewish Messiah (equal to Moses) whereas Jews, as
"apostates," obviously could not. You can imagine the theological (and
political) chaos that ensued in the smoke-filled rooms of Church and
State.
With an entirely open mind, and with access to modern research that raises
doubts about the "official" histories of both Judaism and Christianity,
there is, in actuality, much to recommend their claim.
Incredibly, the accused groups were entirely willing to produce evidence
substantiating their claims, which they believed was so extraordinary in
nature that no one could deny it. Unfortunately, for whatever reasons,
the Church and State chose the standard patriarchal means of dealing with
the problem--murdering all those concerned, destroying whatever "evidence"
could be located, and sequestering all parties who had participated in the
trial, silenced under pain of death.
All is documented by history -- except that evidence.
HISTORICAL 'SECRET SOCIETIES'
It is time now to reveal the identity of these two groups, who will
play an important role (with other related groups) in further discussion
here, and in the as-yet unwritten even more lengthy version, of the
subject matter relevant to a history of the patriarchy.
The first group, whose trial and disposition has been described, is the Knights
Templar, the ruling
military and later economic elite (with the approval of Church and State) of
Christendom for two and a half centuries,
1099-1314 AD.
The second group is the Freemasons, who were not parties to the above
trial but who have suffered similar inquisitions on a smaller scale from
the early 1700s (although their activities are documented at least a
century earlier) to the late 1800s. There is good reason to believe that
Templar cells (in Spain and Scotland, not subject to the laws of Rome)
survived, and in time evolved into the Freemasons, since the two groups in
fact make claim to the same history. No lunatic fringe, these Freemasons.
Masons were central figures among the Founding Fathers, they were central
in the French Revolution, and they were equally central in the
administration of colonies by the British Empire. By the way, Prince
Charles will freely admit that he is the current "titular" Grand Master of
British Freemasonry. [Actually Prince Charles was the first Royal to
refuse to join or preside over the Masons�the Duke of Kent is the current
Royal Patron of Masonry�Lloyd Miller, Editor] Heads of State (and Church,
currently) regard it as a honor --and advantage-- to hold such a position
in the patriarchal society's most celebrated and (depending on which
Lodge) most powerful "men's club."
I will leave this subject at that, returning to it later, in only the
briefest possible way, in order to discuss some of its aspects from a
different angle. The existence of these two groups, and the names of
celebrated historical figures (mostly social revolutionaries) who were
members, is beyond dispute. No scholar will deny these facts, which are
too well documented. The only question open to debate (conclusions
varying) is whether famous members of the Templars or of the Freemasons
were acting independently, or in concert, or guided by their "controllers"
when they appeared on the world stage. Their "true" motives and the "game
plan" of the larger institution are generally unknown, conjectures varying
according to one's historical bias---and one's state of development.
"Conspiracy theorists" with all manner of axes to grind have converged
upon what facts exist, producing an incredible array of paranoid
interpretations, with the tragic result that it. is impossible to address
the (I repeat) facts without being immediately, and unfairly, dismissed as
a fool or a fanatic. Of course, I stand the same danger here. But there
are facts which even the most hostile opponent must acknowledge. With
that as a given, I refrain from making any judgments or offering my own
(debatable) hypotheses here, and go on simply to emphasize (for believer
and nonbeliever alike) the most significant fact of all.
MYSTERIES OF THE 'MEN'S CLUB'
... Which is, simply, that --rooted in human society as far back as
prehistory and everywhere present in societies studied by
anthropologists--the ultimate governing body for masculine identity,
solidarity and authority in a society composed of women and children as
well, is the "Men's Club.' As a trustee of tribally or culturally defined
masculinity, this institution is universally restricted to male
membership, with w en and children excluded by threat of violence,
psychological ploys, and any number of deceptive techniques intended to
mislead and intimidate outsiders. In few words, then, it is necessarily a
secret society' attended by various "cover stories," all designed (among
other things) to deny the nature of its existence, indeed that it exists
at all. Its secrecy is so absolute that information leaking from its own
members is punishable by death. Only in this manner can it guarantee
itself the absolute safety it needs to function as trustee for whatever
"secrets" revelation of which would overthrow the absolute power it
other-wise possesses. (Control of information is absolute control.) This
is a general statement of fact about a type of social structure which
anthropologists have documented at great length in nearly every society
they have observed.
In a male-dominated patriarchal culture, imagine the even greater
significance such "men's clubs" take on ...
'MEN'S CLUBS' TODAY
The Army, the Church, the State (all exclusively, until the present, "men
only") are such institutions on a high level, while examples on lower
levels are quite numerous. All have their official "secrets" with access
restricted to smaller and smaller elites as one nears the apex of the
pyramid. These are obvious facts, but they need to be re- evaluated in a
different context, which I am attempting to provide here. There are also
"men's clubs" on an international (even global) level, still obvious,
composed of men with a consequently wider understanding of events on that
scale, on a higher level than even some of the best minds can grasp. on
that level, too, there are official "secrets," which one can only imagine,
attended by even more stringent security measures for "international
security."
On the highest level we as Westerners can visualize, the "men's club" must
be composed of individuals --men-- who have the ultimate vision of the
West as a cultural entity, hold in their grasp the ultimate
decision-making power over its activities, and safeguard the ultimate
"secrets' which maintain the identity of the West against vulnerabilities
of which only they are aware. This is the apex of the pyramid of
knowledge and power. This is the hierarchy to which all lesser
hierarchies, such as Church and State, inevitably lead -- and it must,
therefore, subsume all "secrets" regarding religion as 'well as politics.
Given the way things work, as empirically observable, whether or not one
accepts the literal physical existence of the "Men's Club"(as a discrete
institution), at least one can be certain that its members exist as a
group or class and that, reasonably, they should know one another on
intimate terms.
For the purpose of argument, let us assume that such a "Men's Club" does
exist.
The facts of history present us with evidence that members of the Knights
Templar and Freemasons (and other such groups) included individuals
holding high-ranking positions in the Army, in the Church and in the
State, throughout Europe and throughout the history of the West.
Evidence also exists that the two groups mentioned were international in
scope, permitting their members, who normally have (by contrast) national
allegiances, to convene for discussion of matters of common, ultimately
international concern. Not surprisingly, therefore, these "secret
societies" serve diplomatic as well as intelligence ends.
There are many examples of celebrated historical figures (e.g., Dante,
Chaucer, John Dee) who pursued 'occult" interests --linked to these
groups-- who also served as diplomats and intelligence agents for their
particular heads of state. This is, in fact, not the exception but the
rule. What might also come as a surprise is how many noted scientists,
military leaders, and heads of state, active in international affairs,
similarly express strong unorthodox (if not "occult") religious beliefs
which --they feel-- guide their moral judgment. That much is known, or
can be proven.
What exactly these unorthodox religious beliefs involve in actual practice
is open to question, particularly when their political behavior ("guided
by it") can be judged very harshly because of the wars, assassinations,
and "dirty tricks" common on the highest level. Hopefully, however, we
have learned in the course of this paper that we have only a superficial
understanding of Christianity, Judaism and Empire --the belief systems of
the patriarchal West-- and are thus ill-qualified to pass judgment on what
may originate in a different vision, more "archetypal," where other
criteria may apply.
MEMBERSHIP OPEN (ESPECIALLY) TO JEWS
In view of the foregoing, another fact needs to be examined. That is, the
presence of large numbers of Jews -- but Jews of a special status-- on the
higher levels just described, moving in and out of elite "secret
societies."
It pays to be careful here, because this is the point where the lunatic
fringe runs amok with anti-Semitic claims of a "worldwide conspiracy" and
calls for violent measures to overthrow it, such as we have witnessed in
Nazi Germany.
A less paranoid perception reveals that Jews, originally a people
dispossessed of their homeland and exiled in foreign lands, are ideal
candidates for a more international view of the world, although ultimately
loyal to the vision of a restored Israel which they could call home. In
the person of the Jews who operate in "secret societies," which are
essentially (I remind you) a "men's club" for international politics, we
see that this is indeed the case.
Taking issue with the anti-Semitic "conspiracy theorists' who invariably
have nationalistic sentiments at odds with the 'one world' point of view,
I see nothing particularly blameworthy in either fulfilling a diplomatic
role or desiring a territory of their own.
The political behavior of "court Jews' and international financiers has
been in this spirit, which should not (at least in advance of further
discussion) be criticized on those grounds. Jewish elites after the
Inquisition rallied to the cause of the Elizabethan British, helping
defeat the repressive church dominated Spanish wing of the Holy Roman
Empire. Later they assisted in the northern alliance, which resurrected
science and technology, forged a new economy, and strengthened the
Protestant revolt (sharing a common God with these "Judaizing" Christians)
which succeeded in overthrowing the rule of Spain and Rome.
Afterward they were instrumental in supporting the Dutch revolt for
independence and then the Glorious Revolution, which not only ended
"divine right" monarchy but created the first modern republic -- an
inspiration to the American experiment a century later, in which their
financial aid (via Dutch "fronts') was also important. After the French
Revolution, when Napoleon (allied to the Catholic Habsburgs) set out to
recreate the Holy Roman Empire, only the financial skills of the
Rothschilds among their number allowed their old friends the British to
prevail.
Time and time again, the Jewish elite could be relied upon to offer
material and logistical support for all that forms the basis of our most
"enlightened Western" Tradition.
A DEBT TO BE PAID: ZION
This support from elite Jews had its price. That price was always the
same, unvarying throughout the centuries -- and did not seem an
unreasonable one:
In exchange for their services, Jews were to receive similar material and
logistical support from the indebted Western powers (primarily Great
Britain) toward the re-conquest and re-occupation of their ancestral
homeland, Palestine. That debt has now been paid, with Israel.
Indeed, the subplot underlying the drama of the 20th Century has been the
progress made toward repaying that debt -- from the Balfour Declaration to
the Balkan Wars, through the wresting of Palestine from Turkey in WWI,
from the Holocaust of WWII to the statehood of Israel in 1948.
After countless centuries as exiles, Jews could at long last return to
their homeland -- at considerable expense to the Western powers. One need
not be anti-Semitic to ask why the Westtolerated that expense. After all,
history is full of examples of the Western willingness to betray
agreements and seize the advantage unjustly wherever possible.
Benevolence is seldom in evidence.
The real but unexpected answer is that the Indo-European West cooperated
with its Semitic brethren from a common interest in the creation of
Israel.
That common interest stems from the fact that both Judaism and
Christianity --or rather Christianity in its "Judaizing" Protestant form--
are based upon the same Old Testament, the Word of a common patriarchal
God, and upon the same Biblical the prophesies foretelling Coming of the
Messiah (finally or again, depending) only after the Jews return to
Israel.
Again and again it is apparent that, no matter how separate Church and
State may appear, patriarchal religion remains a determining influence on
the highest levels of international affairs, as much today (with the
anti-communist Religious Right) as in earlier, equally "secularized'
epochs. No one but the politically naive could fail to see how
consistently Imperial politics justifies its use of raw power by an appeal
to religious principles -- some of them (as we shall see) making for
strange bedfellows.
THE 'TEN LOST TRIBES' � THE "ARYANS"!
For centuries the "myth' identifying the I-E peoples with the "Ten Lost
Tribes' --the tribes who broke away from Judah and Levi, the Jews as we
know them, at a time coinciding with I-E mass migrations into Europe-- has
been accepted as historical fact by the patriarchal ruling class. Of
course, that 'myth" has been most actively promoted by the Jews themselves
-- on each occasion when Jewish assistance has been offered, conditional
upon European support for their efforts to return to Israel.
It was a significant bargaining chip in negotiations with after the
Spain, with the the Portuguese expulsion of Jews from French and English
in Elizabethan times, with Cromwell at a time when Puritans in general
expected the Messiah. In more recent times it reappears, unchanged, in
negotiations with Queen Victoria (a believer in "British Israel") during
the Disraeli ministry and, even today, in negotiations with Jerry Falwell
and his political brethren in the Religious Right for foreign aid to
Israel.
The "myth" of I-E/Semitic brotherhood has always been a persuasive one,
given common belief in a patriarchal God who guides history unerringly
toward its apocalyptic culmination in the arrival of the Messiah.
MESSIAH, KING OF KINGS RULER OF THE WORLD
Note well that this Messiah, the one long awaited by Jews and Christians
alike, must be --by common definition-- a ruler holding absolute power in
this world (not in an "afterlife," as with Christ) under the patriarchal
God.
This is a description, please note, which the Imperial West finds very
much to its liking, because it is the traditional definition of the
Emperor ...
If Protestant Europe and Jewish Israel could agree on their common
OT-based religion; if they could cooperate toward a single form of secular
"Imperial' government acceptable to both; and if a common ruler (Emperor)
could be found who was both "Jewish" and "Christian" --by Second Coming
definitions, more Christian than the man Jesus!-- acknowledged by both
religions ...
Aha! A Grand Plan reuniting the divergent but essentially common
patriarchal traditions of I-E and Semitic peoples (excluding the odd note
of Christianity, rendered obsolete) in the ultimate Western Empire under
the truly absolute power (secular and sacred) of the ultimate Ruler ...
Indeed, if Protestants and Jews could be made to agree on the identity of
this future Messiah, that man --an Emperor, by Western definition-- could
rule the entire world, because analogous Messiahs are expected by other
religions as well, e.g., the Mahdi among Moslems, Maitreya among
Buddhists, Kalki among Hindus ...
At any rate, insofar as the Church and the Temple share the Old Testament
and its apocalyptic prophecies, the two peoples --I-E and Semitic-- do
stand on common ground. The foundation for a common patriarchal religion
in the West, centered-in Jerusalem, already exists.
Where the two diverge is in interpretations of Christianity, of which
there can be several -- including "heretical" ones made by the Knights
Templar and the Freemasons.
Only the religion of Rome remains a dividing factor. Until this schism
between Catholic and Protestant Empires is resolved, there can be no
common seat of power, no common Empire, and -based on the Western
apocalyptic "script"-- no unification of that Empire and Israel. The West
cannot evolve toward the Destiny which motivates it --as manifest in the
history of patriarchy-without incredible efforts at international
diplomatic or military problem-solving, under-taken on the highest levels
and (as we have seen) with the longest-range plans, pursued by those in
the very pinnacle of power (in Church, State and Military) 'conspiring"
[aha!] in the Men's Club of our 'secret societies."
CROWN OF THORNS IN THE SIDE OF PATRIARCHY
Since we live in an apparently secularized era, it is necessary again to
challenge the common assumption that, in the United States in particular,
the State acts independently of the Church. (Laws affirming separation of
these functions have not been successful in preventing their alliance
behind the scenes or at the highest level of government.)
Imperial ambitions such as Manifest Destiny or the superiority of western
civilization must, ultimately, appeal to 'divine" laws, originating with
the patriarchal God. The Fundamentalists have only made that bottom line
explicit rather than cagily tacit.
Patriarchal religion and politics are inseparable. The Emperor and the
Pope both, together, derive their authority from an alleged higher source
in God -- the patriarchal God. Of the two, the Papacy (or the Protestant
Church) obviously has no legitimacy whatsoever except in these terms, but
the Emperor, in practice, is no less bound, needing to affirm either
"divine right" (interpretations varying, in one form surviving even today)
or the more diffuse guidance of a Christian God. No one dares justify
absolute secular power on its own terms!
Even in the United States, a product of (NB) Freemason Founding Fathers,
"in God we trust.' We err if we underestimate the role of "God" (meaning
patriarchal concepts of Him) in affairs of State, today no less than in
historic times.
Indeed, the central dynamic of Western history taken as a whole is
precisely this dialectic between rival secular and sacred powers, Church
and State, appearing (by analogy) even in the oft-remarked upon Western
zigzag between Apollonian and Dionysian poles.
If we interpret the pre-Reformation Church as inclined (albeit only
potentially) toward the "matriarchal," we shall be much enlightened
regarding the true motives --rather than the official "cover story,'
which, in Orwellian fashion, describes progressive alienation as "progress
in freedom"-- behind the patriarchal co-optation of religion by science
and of Christianity by secularized Protestantism.
The more 'matriarchal. genuine Christianity poses a real psychological
threat to patriarchal power, as do analogous Romantic (and often
revolutionary) "counterculture" movements all throughout Western history.
For the same reasons, modern geopolitics has attributed "absolute evil" to
Communism -- Marxism being (by one description) Christian economics
without Christ, cf. Acts 2:44-46-and opposed it with an essentially
religious (Manichaean) hysteria.
Thus it is apparent why the operative concept of deity in the West is,
rather than a more evolved "God of Love," the atavistic Jehovah or Satan,
and why, despite the teachings of Christ, greater fervor is aroused by the
expectation of the Second Coming of a Messiah who will wield more
typically patriarchal power.
Institutionalized 'Christianity' --the patriarchal interpretation of the
Son of God-- has little to do with the Jesus of the Gospels. It could be
described as heretical itself, and literally blasphemous, by any objective
theologian.
According to the astrological "mythic theology,' the ruling God of the Age
of Aries (Ram of Justice) was superseded ca. 220 AD by the more refined
God of the Age of Pisces (Fish of mercy, Dove of Peace).
Since then, a kind of "underground' (psychic) war has waged for centuries
between the two, in man's own soul, reflected at the highest levels of
power. It is not for us (reading history as written from the "Arian"
patriarchal point of view) to decide the victor -- not just yet ...
The "Piscean" belief of greatest personal interest to patriarchal
propagandists --in other words, that which best serves their ends-- is
that the Messiah will combine, in a single person, the functions of both
King (political power) and High Priest (religious power) -- in other
words, he will be both Emperor and Pope ...
BEHIND CLOSED DOORS in 'THE MEN'S CLUB'
Based upon all the intimations offered in leading up to this point, we
will return once more to the aforementioned "secret societies" where the
rulers of Church and State, science and the military, meet on equal terms,
and ask some vital questions:
What is the nature of their belief system --combining (by their claim)
"true" Judaism and "true" Christianity, to form a unitary patriarchal
religion-- and through what ritual does that common Patriarchal God -- Who
alone can appoint a single human (male) representative to hold absolute
political power, at least in the West-- transmit that powe to them?
We do not have first-hand evidence of what occurs on the highest levels of
these "men's clubs," at the very apex of the pyramid, so it impossible to
say whether what follows is true on that level -- or (an important
distinction to which we will later return) true only on lower levels where
practices we are aware of may represent an as-yet "un- illuminated"
partial or distorted approximation of something similar occurring, and
thus subject to re-evaluation, on the highest level.
Insofar as the "meaning" of symbolism (and consequently its effects on
behavior) varies with one's state of development, as Jungian scholars will
attest, it is wise to emphasize the latter point and, accordingly, to
with-hold final judgment until all the facts are available.
DEEP DARK SECRETS of "THE MEN'S CLUB'
However, if we restrict our comments to lower levels -nevertheless as high
in the hierarchy as most historians and experts in international affairs
can imagine-- we can cite eyewitness testimony, secondary sources and
a-wealth of circumstantial evidence, all mutually corroborative, in
support of the following facts.
Descriptions of the private rituals of these 'secret societies" --
essentially, mind you, "men's clubs" for the patriarchal ruling class--
invariably include, irrespective of place or time and even today, two main
ingredients: animal (or human) sacrifice (reminiscent of "Satanic'
practices) and homosexual acts performed during 'initiation' ceremonies.
Numerous investigators, all predictably disturbed by this discovery, have
attempted to defend the (presumed) moral integrity of the institutions
concerned by dismissing these charges as libels, or else as accurate
descriptions of only a limited number of "perverted' members, "exceptions"
to the rule.
However, the truth is that these charges are the rule, not the exception,
given the largest possible context.
Within that context --a patriarchy defined by male bonding, narcissistic
idealization of phallicized violence, and deep distrust of (if not overt
hostility toward) woman and "feminine" feelings or sexuality-- such
behavior would seem possible, indeed probable, and for some percentage of
men, even inevitable.
The position I take here is, again, not one of any moral judgment attached
to "deviant' sexual practices per se - - or even to ritualistic
bloodletting, short of murder!
What I am offering here is, rather, a meta-psychological indictment of the
role these play in supporting an identification of sex and violence
(combined with antagonism toward woman, the body and Nature) intrinsic
--as we have argued-- to the nature of the patriarchy, the real object of
critical analysis here.
In discussion of this highly volatile subject, I beg the indulgence of
readers who may happen to be gay --as a given, and not necessarily in
relation to the cultural determinants I describe here-- and ask that they
attempt to follow my argument without taking personal offense, hopefully
recognizing its larger aim, which is to liberate all of us, inclusively.
To reiterate, the two main "secrets" of those "secret societies" which
constitute the "men's club" at the pinnacle of patriarchal power are:
animal (or human) sacrifices and ritualized homosexual acts.
In the two sections following, we will examine each in turn.
A.
PATRIARCHAL SACRAMENTS OF DEATH BY VIOLENCE
First, let us recall what was said earlier about the Ram-sacrifice common
to the original patriarchal tribes, I-E and Hebraic, and its probable
survival among those self-avowed apostate "Jews,' the Knights Templar.
In the light of earlier discussion of the vicarious identity of slayer
with slain, let us also consider that archetypal Christian symbol
(commemorated in the Roman Catholic Mass) of the sacrifice of the Lamb of
God, i.e., the death of Christ interpreted (by the Imperial Church) as the
actual murder of God.
Here, however, we will violate one of the most powerful taboos of Western
religion --revealing the existence of a culturally-conditioned "blind
spot" which survives even today, as evidence of the patriarchy's control
over our very consciousness--and we will think the unthinkable ...
THE INVISIBLE HALF OF THE EQUATION
Examining the single archetypal act which binds (or separates) Slayer and
Slain, we will give our attention to the murderer rather than, as is
customary, to Christ the willing victim.
Putting aside what will be (for many) the anxiety attendant upon breaking
taboos, we shall attempt, just for a moment, to identify with the murderer
of God, in order to understand his experience of the act, vicariously, and
divine his motives in this, the most absolutely evil of all imaginable
acts.
The sensitive reader may already feel an intimation of why this, above
all, is a "secret" restricted to those few who have attained near-absolute
power as literal fact, rather than (as it is for us) merely a concept.
Note well that the Gospel accounts of the crucifixion make every effort to
prevent an identification with the slayer rather than slain. The "dead
God" alone has the spotlight.
Immediate responsibility for his death is blurred and no single person is
presented (instead, several are suggested) as its human agent.
Judas betrayed Christ, but under the latter's own instruction.
The Jewish authorities (Herod and his High Priests) brought charges of
blasphemy against Jesus, but under law, the power to try and punish
criminals was invested in the Roman governor of Judea, who abstained from
making judgments relative to Jewish religious law.
Thus, the original charge was changed to treason against Rome. Jesus as
King of the Jews (in a literal sense) and as Son of God (symbolically)
challenged the authority of the Emperor, not only with respect to
appointment of legitimate provincial rulers (e.g., Herod) but in the
Emperor's own capacity as "Son of God," like other Caesars.
Pilate absolved himself of any personal responsibility and (in what
appears to be an interpolated incident, pro- Roman and anti-Semitic)
allowed the Jews to make the final choice. At any rate, it was under the
laws of the Roman Empire that Jesus was sentenced to death.
At this point it is hastily concluded that, in the apparent conflict
between Caesar and Christ, it was ultimately the Roman Emperor who
murdered Christ.
Bad enough, and for many a kind of precedent, but not entirely true.
One could equally well decide that the true murderer was the Roman
centurion who delivered the coup de grace, thrusting his spear into the
side of Christ not yet dead upon the cross.
In fact, many would have us believe that there was, in Germany during
WWII, a "Satanic" cult centered around possession of the surviving murder
weapon, the 'Spear of Destiny," which granted near-absolute power -- as
apparently it did (for awhile) to its last claimant, Adolf Hitler.
True or false, such beliefs lend credibility to our basic argument, but
nevertheless fall short of the even more radical conclusion which one may
draw, upon careful weighing ol all the scriptural evidence ...
WHO KILLED THE SON OF GOD?
In accepting the role of Messiah as 'suffering servant," preordained to
die by scriptural prophecies embodying the Word of God the Father --the
patriarchal Jehovah, worshiped with ram-sacrifice-- Christ accepted his
fate at the hands, ultimately, of God Himself.
It was to the will of God that Jesus submitted, as he himself often enough
asserted and since the orthodox Jewish religion of his day held --like
today's Fundamentalists-- that no man (anywhere) rules but under
appointment by God (the one and only God, for all) , we have come full
circle back to Caesar but with an altogether different perception of the
"truth" of the matter ...
Yes, it was the Emperor who murdered the Christian God (the Son of the
matriarchal God) -- but in blameless obedience to that same patriarchal
God -- and indeed, in the Emperor's traditional capacity a s the (equal
but opposite) "Son of God" in a more truly patriarchal sense!
Could there be any greater --theologically sound-justification for murder
as a sacrament than this model of God as murderer of His own Son?
Or for the conviction that God granted His patriarchal 'Son," the Emperor,
absolute power (based on violence) in this world, in preference to claims
made by the matriarchal Son of God, who was obligated to obey the Emperor
and submit meekly to his power no differently than any other human
subject?
Absolute power indeed! Literally godlike.
The 'inferior' matriarchal God, or Son of God, murdered 'harmlessly" in
this worship , was exiled to some 'otherworldly" Kingdom Of Heaven, to
rule over a population of similarly exiled human souls, all martyrs and
innocent victims, no longer of any concern to us here in the world of the
living -- the real world in which the Emperor is the true and "preferred'
ruler under God the Father.
The bottom line in this interpretation of Caesar vs Christ invalidates all
challenges to --and renders impossible all rebellion against--
patriarchal' authority as manifest in worldly power, and does so through
faultless theological argument, culminating in what amounts to a
"revelation."
In this view, one may see that violence, and the resolution of conflict
through violence, is not only inescapable but is actually "good", holy,
indeed a glorious sacrament -- ultimately reaffirmed by the-central
archetype of Western religion. Right under our noses.
Thus the claim, "God wills it," motto of the Knights Templar motto during
the Crusades, the predecessor to our own "God is on our side." The violent
are under the guidance of God.
THE PREROGATIVE (AND DUTY) OF VIOLENCE
Let us pause to retrace our steps and note how we arrived at this
startling realization (a high-order rationalization) through the simple
process of identifying with the agent of ritual sacrifice, the "murderer
of God," rather than his victim.
Note that this is something which is normally inconceivable, rarely
occurring (consciously) to anyone other than the mentally deranged --
except for those in positions of the utmost power, such as commanding
general of the army or the Emperor (or Pope) when persecuting heretics or
leading armies against the infidel, or the Pope performing Mass in his
(NB) literal role of sacrificial agent, only "symbolically" also the
sacrifice. . .
In other words, the predisposition toward such an identification is found
only among persons who have some experience of power as expressed through
instruments of violence.
It is reasonable to assume that, the greater the degree of such power, the
greater the likelihood of identifying with an all-powerful, supremely
destructive God of Death, the murderer of all lesser Gods (including
Christ) -- Jehovah to some, Satan to others. For the modern Emperor,
invested with absolute power like the mad Caesars of old, this
identification may indeed be inescapable.
We may also assume that, on an unconscious level, every male experiences
sone small aspect of this whenever subjected to the matriarchal system's
primary "test of manhood" --war-- and make's the 'correct" choice,
deciding to kill rather than be killed.
The dilemma of "kill or be killed" is one which has, indeed, driven some
men mad with guilt, while compelling others to pursue metaphysical avenues
of escape from a double-bind which, among other things, casts doubt upon
the ultimate "goodness" of God Himself.
There seems to be no more certain road to an existential encounter with
the Void, reality as it is, not as we judge it in ,'moral" or even human
terms --and thus to insanity or enlightenment-- than the path on which
life meets death (the unknowable) face-to-face -- and becomes death.
This encounter is at the root of the patriarchal experience of God,
evident in the Hebraic tradition from Cain's murder of Abel (resulting in
the taboo which protects him) through Abraham's willingness to sacrifice
his son Isaac and (by inference) Jacob wrestling with the Angel of Death,
down to Moses brought face to face with the Lord of Hosts (=Armies) on
Sinai.
Noting once more the inter-changeability of Jehovah and Satan, both
represented by the fierce Ram of Death, the same encounter is equally
apparent in the "Satanic" rituals which are evocations of the patriarchal
God, whether or not accompanied by symbolic or actual murder of an
"innocent" human being.
Given this preliminary discussion, it should be not at all surprising to
find the slayer/slain ritual (emphasis on the slayer, for the reasons
indicated) among the secret practices of the 'men's club," centered on the
worship of power manifest in destructive violence -- in truth, the central
theme of the patriarchal system.
Before we proceed to forms of this ritual as it appears in various "secret
societies" throughout history --in other words, among the elite membership
of the patriarchal "men's club"-- let us distinguish between two separate
contexts that are often confused in the popular mind.
Particularly in discussion of "Satanism" or "Devil-worship", the Ram and
the Goat as cited as objects of veneration, with little distinction made.
However, the Ram is a God of Death, worshiped by a powerful elite through
rituals centered on sacrifice, while the Goat is a God of Lust, worshiped
by common folk through essentially sexual rituals. In some cases, since
both involve taboo instincts, it may be that there is an overlap, but
generally the two are separate and in fact appeal to separate social
classes.
SACRAMENTAL VIOLENCE in FREEMASONRY?
The Knights Templar have already been referred to. It is sufficient to
note that, for centuries, they served as the official military and police
force of the Church, with a monopoly on the use of 'Christian' violence.
Given their position, to accuse them of murder (or assassination) seems
almost redundant.
The ritual initiation into Freemasonry is a mock-sacrifice of the acolyte,
re-enacting the murder of a celebrated person (described as the founder of
that Order) at the very origins of Masonry, during the time (ca. 1000 BC)
when Phoenician architects (assisting the Jews) constructed the Temple of
Solomon.
There are reasons to believe that this model is based on the Egyptian
"passion play" in which Osiris (analogous to our Christ) is slain by the
ass-headed--sometimes ram-headed-- god Set, only to rise again as Judge of
the Dead.
Seldom have masons been accused of the literal murder of the initiate,
entering low in the hierarchy. However, there have been suggestions that
the Masons played the role of "sacrificial priests" toward high-ranking
members (usually heads of State or even Church) who have died
mysteriously, in circumstances suggestive of ritual execution.
On the model of "king sacrifice' among ancient peoples, noted by the
anthropologist Frazer, scholars such as Margaret Murray have investigated
the mysterious deaths of heads of Church and State --e.g., Thomas a
Becket-- during the Dark and Middle Ages and have brought to light
evidence implicating 'witch cults" or other groups.
Invariably these victims were canonized for meeting their deaths meekly,
after the manner of Christ.
Where the victims held positions of power, this evidence is suggestive of
ritual murder as a rite of succession, just as in the case of the "king
sacrifice" of primitive times. Just as in that case, also, the victim
seemed to have understood and accepted his fate, submitting willingly.
In the United States, founded by masons and --this too is a matter of
record-- governed by a Masonic elite until the middle of the 19th Century,
the infamous "20-year cycle" of deaths of Presidents in office has raised
questions about the true nature of these until-now predictable deaths,
apparently due to natural causes as well as to assassination by 'lone
gunmen."
There is no evidence implicating agents of Freemasonry, but, given the
perspective we have developed here, one is entirely justified in at least
raising questions concerning the possibility of ritual murder in these
cases.
British researchers investigating the 'Jack the Ripper' murders have
recently amassed evidence proving that these crimes were committed by a
physician in Queen Victoria's court in collusion with several associates,
all of them high-ranking Freemasons.
Rather than being the work of a psychopath, these murders appear to have
been efforts to systematically eliminate witnesses who were in possession
of facts "damaging" to the Royal Family and thus to affairs of State.
For this we now have conclusive evidence.
But in order to decide whether this is an isolated instance of Masons
functioning as "hit men' for the State, or whether this behavior is
typical, we can only resort to conjecture.
ESPIONAGE AND OCCULTISM
We have already referred to the WWII German (Nazi) 'Satanic Cult" centered
around the Spear of Destiny, which is mentioned not by cranks but by
high-ranking diplomats formerly in the service of the British government
and its intelligence agencies.
Many details regarding "cultic" practices in the Nazi SS (itself created,
in fact, along Templar models) have become available only from French
sources, since it is official policy (even today) in this country --and
especially in Britain-- to censor information in those areas, classified
"top secret."
It may come as a surprise that the bulk of documents seized by Allied
forces in Germany during WWII remain, even in this country and to this
day, unavailable to researchers. The loaded question here is, for what
reason?
For the British, at least, it has always been the case that (in
Churchill's words) "the truth must be protected by a bodyguard of lies,"
at home as well as abroad ...
A number of intelligence operatives for Britain's SIS (MI6) and its
American partner the OSS --particularly those in the field of
Psychological Warfare-- have come back from WWII with an obsession with
black magic and what we may call "occult politics."
It is rumored (until one can obtain better evidence) that Aleister
Crowley was employed by British intelligence in pre-Nazi Germany,
ostensibly because the German "secret society" of which he later became
the head (the OTO = Order of oriental Templars) was governed by a Prussian
intelligence agent, Theodor Reuss, formerly assigned to shadow the aging
Karl Ma.rx.
High-level intelligence makes for strange bedfellows, two of them being
occultism and worldly power.
Crowley himself, the "Great Beast" of turn-of-the-century occultism and an
initiate of secret orders such as the Golden Dawn (interlocking with
British Freemasonry), was noted above all for his bloody sacrifices and
for his periodic 'ritual" homosexuality, scandalous in his era.
Another member of wartime British intelligence (in fact, not rumor) was
Dennis Wheatley, who made a profitable living afterward writing horror
novels -- on the subject of Satanic practices in high places.
The characters were usually upper-class Britons, or else foreigners from
colonies like India, and members of an international cult involved in
political intrigue for (varying from novel to novel) either the Nazis or
the Communists.
The rituals of the cult, while derived from traditional Western
'ceremonial magic' (e.g., the Golden Dawn), in all cases involve worship
of the Ram, an element noticeably absent in Western occultism as we in-6-w
it.
That detail suggests a deeper first-hand knowledge of occultism than even
most scholars possess, and also, given his intelligence record,
familiarity with real (not fictitious) "Satanic" groups such as he
describes.
Whether these are Nazi or Communist fronts (typical WWII suspicions)
--rather than British, which is equally likely-- is of little importance
compared to indications, by Wheatley and others, that Ram-worshipping
"Satanic" groups did, in fact, exist on an international scale, as
recently as World War Two.
It is easy to imagine a man such as Dulles, first (as OSS SIS liaison) in
contact with "secret societies" in Brittany and Bavaria --Alpha Galates
and the Kreisau Circle-- and then later America's premier Cold War
strategist, thinking of the Communist threat in quasi-religious
(Manichaean) terms and, his eye upon the patriarchal-imperial Ram,
fulminating against a .godless" (and "collectivist,' almost matriarchal)
Communism that must be subordinated by force, with the Bomb if necessary
...
MODERN-DAY 'SATANISM'
There are indications that animal, and even human, sacrifice is still
being performed today, by members of an extended power elite --including
organized crime and international intelligence-- both in the "men's club"
of high- level secret societies and in lower-level cults and lunatic
fringe groups.
One must be careful not to confuse the two, allowing chaff detract from
the significance of the wheat with which we are concerned here.
My own background is as an investigative reporter, in which capacity I
have collected, exchanged and disseminated information in cooperation with
other researchers, and later as a private investigator (operating within
an international detective agency) conducting my own inquiries with the
assistance of former and current members of the American and Canadian
(British) intelligence community.
In these circles, the world is quite a different place than it
appears, and one has greater access to information which does not filter
down to the general public.
In short, I am saying that the statements I make, and the inferences I
draw from them, rest heavily upon this background, which, one would hope,
acquits me of charges that I am merely .paranoid."
Informed by "Son of Sam' that his murders were part of a ritual murder
network, researcher Maury Terry followed his leads to a "Satanic' group
known as the Process, which has verifiable links to Charles Manson,
Scientology (in Great Britain) and organized crime.
Process itself has passed on, having long been under the close
scrutiny of law enforcement agencies, including my old friend Anton
Szandor LaVey (Church of Satan) in his little-known capacity as informant
for Interpol and others regarding the activities of real (not just
"theatrical,' a la Anton) sacrificial cults.
However, groups within it have apparently been subsumed within-a -
larger organization, of international scope, combining "Satanic" ritual
not only with organized crime activities (child pornography, prostitution,
drugs and murder) but with covert intelligence operations (drug-smuggling
and arms-dealing) as well, the latter two by now being inseparable.
For the moment, not being a specialist in this area, I pass on the
question of whether it is also implicated in networks of ritualistic
"Satanic" child abuse, abducting children for this purpose -- which may or
may not exist, since it is hard to get at the "facts" through the general
paranoia surrounding these issues!
The members of this organization include Mafia warlords, American and
Israeli intelligence agents, high-ranking (local government) political
figures, Hollywood financiers, and so on, a strange mixture with a common
interest in power through violence.
These are precisely the types of individuals who should, if our
hypothesis holds true, be predisposed toward the types of "taboo" rituals
secretly practiced in the "men's club."
More would be known, in fact, if it were not for the pressures applied
from on high, by politicians, government officials in the military and in
intelligence, and by more aggressive pressures from below, in the form of
missing witnesses, death threats and the like. All aim to suppress
further investigation.
Judging by this, one may assume that this organization operates under
the same safeguards, including official sanction by the power elite, to be
noted in the case of other "secret societies" within the men's club.'
I can cite one case in which I was personally (but only coincidentally)
involved, in illustration of such pressures and in explanation of why they
are applied.
In 1981 the roommate of a girlfriend, promised a Hollywood career, was
abducted and apparently murdered by two men who were "Satanists" as well
as criminals. (one of them, in fact, was the son of a high-ranking
European diplomat.) one escaped and was later shot by Canadian
authorities. The other, still in San Francisco, was arrested and confined
-- but "accidentally" released the next day by the judge
Following a protest by the girl's family, their attorneys and the private
investigator they had hired, the man was rearrested, charged with
kidnaping, suspicion of murder, and other crimes such as grand larceny,
possession of illegal firearms, etc. The case made headlines for weeks.
Next, however, the Mayor and District Attorney received telephone calls
from Washington DC ordering him released, on grounds that his arrest
raised "national security" issues and any trial fell under federal, not
local, jurisdiction. He was released on bail -- and immediately vanished,
without trial!
Apparently (we concluded from further investigation) he had been robbing
banks and using that money to buy weapons, which were then smuggled to
Central American terrorists, who paid for them with drugs, afterward sold
in the US to raise more money --classic off-the-record funding operation
for CIA activities. While doing this in his official capacity, however,
for his own entertainment he was abducting women, holding "Satanic"
rituals in which they were murdered, and recording the events for sale
abroad as 'snuff" films. Considering the fact that he was given
what amounts to full immunity, regardless of "unrelated crimes
--including murder-- one wonders if these crimes were not in fact also
part of the CIA plan.
In a case where I was more directly involved (as consultant to
deprogrammers), I questioned a young woman whose brother, once a hippie
and now --in a reversal of attitude-- a Vietnam veteran, was suffering not
from memory loss but recovery of memories previously lost to amnesia,
resulting in hysterical reactions.
While traveling through India, hippie fashion, he had been taken in by an
ashram, regaled with psychedelics, subjected to bizarre rituals, and then,
apparently, programmed to be an assassin. (The "guru," by his account,
looked more Germanic than Hindu.) It was after this that he signed up for
a tour in Vietnam.
Returning home, his sister noted that he would slip into a hypnotic trance
from time to time, apparently in response to certain telephone calls, just
as in "The Manchurian Candidate' -a film which neither had ever seen.
His sister not only eavesdropped on these calls but claimed to have
witnessed visits from assorted strangers, followed by similar results.
Only much later did I read accounts of the escape of many Nazis, after
WWII (via Odessa channels) to Egypt and India, where they assumed "local"
identities.
SATANISM AND PSY WAR
Is it surprising that we find high-ranking military and intelligence
figures repeatedly associated with Nazism as well as "Satanism?" Those who
have the most direct experience of death --men in that most fundamental
patriarchal institution, the Army, hired to murder other men ("the enemy")
during the course of that most fundamental collective ritual of the
patriarchy, the War--are those most likely to discover its archetypal
meaning, best expressible in the symbolism of Satan and the ideology of
Nazism.
Figures in the Army, in intelligence, or in organized crime, accused of
the same "Satanic practices" repeatedly associated with the power elite of
the "men's club" ...
By now we should have little doubt that such practices have occurred --and
still do occur-- in such groups as we have described, ubiquitously, in one
form or another. The point I am stressing here is their relation to power
and their interactions with the power structure, which may support
this.(In directly or indirectly--whether as sources of new members L)iy
new victims.
It is well to note that, since WWII, these "Satanic" "secret societies"
have added new symbols to their existing repertoire, all borrowed from
Nazi Germany, which they view as a "Satanic" cult writ large.
For example, Process placed great emphasis on the swastika and SS
lightning bolts as symbols of the God of Death and on Hitler as an
"avatar" of the Great Beast, as described in that other source of
apocalyptic symbolism, the Book of Revelations. Such references relate
"Satanism" directly to the mainstream patriarchal religion and its
messianic world-historical prophecies, which (as we have indicated) play a
greatly underestimated role in Western affairs of State.
Indeed, "Satanism' as we know it seems to be a purer, less disguised,
direct expression of the patriarchal God and His theology of power through
violence. That is another point I wish to stress.
TOTALITARIANISM AND THE PATRIARCHY
Nazism, as modern metaphor for absolute evil, has been singled out as an
isolated political phenomenon, but the true history of WWII has been
suppressed for what it would reveal about the nature of the patriarchy, in
religion and politics.
There is every reason to believe that (a) the Nazi ideology had its roots
in "occultism," (b) it was shared, at least at first, with the "occultism"
of other self-described Aryan nations, particularly Great Britain, and (c)
diplomats and intelligence officers in the SIS and OSS (later the CIA)
were privy to highly classified information along these lines.
This may account for the otherwise incredible postwar alliance between US
intelligence and Gehlen's Nazi intelligence network, after Hitler, and for
their identity as a "united front" against the Communist menace.
It may account also for the Vatican's sympathetic attitude toward Nazis
after the war, in cooperation with American intelligence, and for the high
visibility of both Nazi and Japanese war criminals in international
anticommunist organizations (e.g., WACL) established by American
intelligence after the War.
Except for Hitler, there seems to have been a general "Aryan" camaraderie
between Nazis, British and Americans, dating from the '30s, which survives
intact today.
The Nazi "secret society," Odessa, is a reality, but to call it "Nazi" is
to direct attention away from the international (non-nationalistic) and
Imperial nature of such groups as they operate on a global scale with
stranger loyalties.
For instance, in modern South America, there have been several instances
of fascist coups accomplished with the aid of US (and Israeli)
intelligence.
In at least two of these, the new warlord head of State was inaugurated in
a public ceremony employing Nazi regalia, offering speeches in praise of
Hitler, and blessed by the presence of priests from Rev. Moon's
Unification Church, who praised fascism as the most Christian of
institutions... (A letter of warm support followed from President Reagan,
saying, in effect, "Welcome to the club.')
Indeed, Rev. Moon describes himself as the new Messiah, awaiting his
papal reign alongside the Emperor of the World, according to his own
peculiar apocalyptic vision -- which the intelligence wing of the US
government apparently shares.
FASCIST INTERNATIONAL
There is much evidence in support of the hypothesis that fascism, as an
international ideology, is supported by an international superstructure,
which governs the activities of its subordinate member nations.
America is one such member nation, and we err greatly in assuming that
this country's foreign policy operates independent of "higher" (higher
than national) authority to which we must, ultimately, submit. (once
Germany was a subordinate national manifestation of that superstructure,
but it may have gotten too independent under Hitler, resulting in the
alliances against Germany in the War.)
I propose that, on higher levels of the patriarchy, where the unifying
powers of Emperor and Church are primary, nations are merely convenient
fictions.
I propose, likewise, that the ideology which gives unity to international
fascism is essentially a religion -- for the masses, a "secularized" form
of the common patriarchal religion, with the essential emphasis on power
through violence, but for the elite of its superstructure, the patriarchal
religion per se, centered on the worship of Jehovah/Satan, God of Death.
Let me emphasize that fact: Fascism is a religion as well as an ideology,
as was Nazism.
We will probably never know what really occurred on the highest levels of
the Empire, in the State or the Church, from the 1920s to date. We do
know, however, that it would all be interpreted according to the
apocalyptic script of Western religious/political history, centered on the
patriarchal God and his Chosen one, the Emperor, and with direct reference
to the State of Israel and the fate of Christianity.
For example, the Holocaust must be reinterpreted in these terms,
within the context presented here. However, I shall pass over discussion
of that event, noting only that the spectacle of collective Jewry
submitting humbly, like slain before slayer, to their Nazi executioners is
one of the more illuminating images of the central archetype of
patriarchal consciousness, whether manifest in religious or in political
terms.
Again, played out on a massive collective scale, with the whole world
as witness, the theme of ritual sacrifice, sacramental violence.
B.
DEVIANT SEX as PATRIARCHAL SACRAMENT
The second accusation, repeatedly appearing in of the rituals of these
"secret societies" which constitute the inner core of the "men's club," is
that their members secretly engage in homosexual practices..
One's first reaction to the suggestion that the epitome of manhood
--the proudest and most dominant males-- in the patriarchal society, which
idealizes masculine sexuality, are secretly homosexuals is naturally
disbelief. It seems preposterous, a total contradiction of what we would
assume to be the case. However, this is a reaction based on about the
nature of masculine sexuality which, when we examine them, are
questionable indeed.
For example, we assume that "virility" is associated exclusively with
heterosexuality, when in fact it is not.
Defined as phallic potency, it is an attribute of a masculine organism as
such, even in isolation, and regardless of its relationship to other
organisms, of either sex. Furthermore, phallic potency in relationship to
others --the social definition of "virility"-- is measured by one's
capacity for "masculine.. aggression and dominance over others regardless
of sex, particularly in a patriarchal culture.
In these fundamental physiological and social definitions of manhood,
there is no intrinsic emphasis on heterosexuality. The primary rather is,
rather, on dominance.
This accords well with what is known about the effects of male hormones,
which biologically define manhood. Male hormones are responsible for
primary and secondary masculine characteristics, but do not specify the
object of desire, and by far the greater social effect is on aggression
toward objects.
MASCULINITY AS DOMINANCE
The contemporary view of "homosexuality" is one source of confusion for
us. It is only in recent times, and in the United States, that both
partners to a homosexual act are defined equally as 'homosexuals.'
Throughout history and in all other cultures, by contrast, this term has
been used only in scornful reference to the passive ('feminine") partner
to the act. The full dignity and "manhood" of the active partner was
undiminished by participation in an act of penetration--penetration being
proof of virile dominance-involving an 'unconventional- (but popularly
accepted) male object. Indeed, folklore regarding the highly-sexed male
held him willing and able to fuck anything --any orifice-- male or female,
human or animal.
in this view --in the oldest, most fundamental patriarchal conception of
masculine sexuality-- virility h;s nothing whatsoever to do with
heterosexuality and everything to do with dominance expressed through an
active, penetrating phallic orientation. It easily includes homosexual
acts -- so long as this active role is the rule.
Passive homosexuality, on the other hand, was definitely unmasculine,
'feminizing' a male through submission and surrender, humiliating him in
the eyes of those who equate manhood with power.
For these very reasons, in this original patriarchal view, homosexual acts
were prized as the ultimate display of male dominance over other males,
i.e., defeated rivals or inferiors ' An opponent forced to submit to the
victor's power, expressed sexually, was not only humiliated but deprived
of his socially defined manhood as well, amounting to castration.
We see this enacted literally or symbolically among our primate ancestors,
in the ritualized behavior of baboons competing for a position in the
male-dominance hierarchy.
We read accounts of the same behavior, unchanged, not only among human
beings in primitive African societies, but even among the relatively
modern (ca. 2000 BC) Old Kingdom Egyptians, who describe it in their
Pyramid Texts. Apparently it was, in archaic times, a common public
ceremony, employed not only to demonstrate subjugation of an enemy or
rival, but submission of all subjects to the phallic authority of the
warlord-father 'Pharaoh.
With respect to the latter general case, involving ritual sodomy as symbol
of submission o paternal,, authority, anthropological studies of the
original "men's club" in primitive societies are even more revealing.
'INITIATION' INTO THE MEN'S CLUB
>From these sources we learn that the rites of passage by which young boys
were initiated into the company of their elders (the "Fathers") at puberty
regularly involved their introduction to homosexual acts by older males.
Serving their elders sexually --anally or orally-- was justified on the
grounds that this was the means by which tribal masculinity was
"transmitted." It was held that only a more sexually mature male could
stimulate sexual development in a younger (pre-pubertal) male, since
obviously (by this view) this could not be done by women, lacking the
requisite hormones.
For the same reason, adolescent males were separated from their mothers,
sisters and womenfolk in general and, in the common belief that children
before puberty are androgynous, then subjected to rituals 'purifying' them
by removing any residual 'femininity." Normally this means the painful
sacrifice of the foreskin in circumcision (which retains this meaning in
orthodox Judaism) or other 'tests of manhood."
Note that masculinity (and masculine sexuality) is regarded in this
context as the private possession of men, shared among men exclusively --
indeed, withheld from women, who were kept outside and in the dark thro gh
the secrecy of the Imen's club,' enforced by taboos punishable by death
or, at the very least, by gang rape.
We observe here that the power of men, as a distinct sex, could only be
acquired through separating it from women and thus necessitated, for a
period, exclusion of women. In the patriarchy, however, the exclusion
became absolute and perpetual.
Note also that other men (not women) define masculinity andwomen were
rejected as an "emasculating" or "feminizing, influence, during a critical
imprinting period of adolescence which might last for years.
By these terms, a young male who took a healthy (hetero)-sexual interest
in women was considered less a man (equivalent to our "sissy') than his
more homosexually inclined brothers. He would be warned of losing his-
manhood to women.
The initiation of younger males into "manhood" via the homosexual
practices of the "men's club" was justified, we repeat, by appeal to an
"occult system" for the transmission of male sexual power from elders to
youths.
Such beliefs still hold respectability today among certain Shivaite sects
in India, practitioners of 'left-hand" Tantric or Kundalini Yoga, and
among cults deriving from them, including -according to Alain Danielou--
the Knights Templar.
There even exists, in Berkeley today, a small Kabbalist Order which
emphasizes the role of sodomy in awakening the "asshole chakra.'
MALE BONDING THROUGH SHARED GUILT
Viewed from the outside, however, descriptions of these practices are more
suggestive of antagonism on the part of eider males toward their more
youthful charges, as potential challengers, and consequently of perhaps
truer motives lying in their desire to subordinate them to their authority
by the most humiliating means possible -- until convinced thereby of their
ultimate loyalty.
One suspects, furthermore, that this loyalty was also assured by shared
guilt, i.e., by peer-group knowledge of a behavior which, if made public
(in violation of the secrecy of the 'men's club") would be considered most
shameful indeed*... because, in most cases, overt (publicly recognized)
homosexuality was considered ludicrous by the people --and particularly by
the women-- of the tribe.
Let us remember this double standard toward homosexuality -private
approval, among an elite in secret, alongside public disapproval by the
common folk-- for future reference, for it will return to haunt the "men's
club" as discussion continues.
First pause to consider the foregoing facts -- and then take a step
forward to imagine how much more applicable these might be to an
emphatically patriarchal culture, founded on masculine dominance in
opposition to the feminine principle, male-bonding in preference to
pair-bonding, and a phallic symbolism which defines masculine sexuality in
terms of aggression and power rather than sensual pleasure or fertility.
Imagine what might take place, hypothetically, within the "men's club"
(that archetypal institution) of the patriarchy ...
MODERN 'INITIATION RITUALS'
There are implications of this attitude all around us, even today, in that
traditional lower-level institution "for men only," the fraternity. As
price of admission to these "elite' societies, initiation ceremonies
frequently involve humiliating experiences with strong suggestions of a
homosexual element.
These require any self-respecting "macho" pledge to strenuously defend his
"honor" and struggle to preserve his (sexual) dominance against the
pressures applied by the more powerful (dominant) fraternity leaders.
In a recent Bay Area incident, for example, one such pledge died from
complications resulting from anal penetration by a broomstick during his
"initiation." He was too embarrassed to explain his injuries -- ostensibly
he had done enough to "prove' his "manhood" -- so only the autopsy was
able to disclose the cause of death.

of shared guilt" still used today, in the Mafia, for example.

In that central institution of the patriarchy, the Army, "basic training'
for young male recruits --by which they are inducted into the pecking
order of dominance/submission, obedience and command-- consists largely of
brutal subordination to the will of other males in authority, with
verbally explicit homosexual overtones.
Failing to "prove his manhood' in the struggle among rivals for 'the few
positions of relative dominance (rank and command), the loser is
mercilessly ridiculed in sexualized (passive homosexual or "effeminate")
terms.
This is, please note, the institution which generally provides the modern
equivalent of a 'rite of passage' for men coming of age.
Note also that there is no institution which is more effective in
conditioning negative attitudes toward woman, encouraging contempt toward
her as a person and exploitation of her as merely a sex object -- whether
in the form of prostitutes available during leave or an enemy's wives or
daughters raped as spoils of war.
It is there that sex acquires its standard patriarchal definition as
violent penetration --in other words, as rape-- and there that men are
judged as men --by their fellow men, not by women-- on the basis of
general masculine dominance through violence.
Male-bonded during basic training, peers on the battlefield later will
commonly refer to themselves jokingly as "asshole buddies," with obvious
connotations.
in prison, the same dynamics may be observed in even crujer form, with
even more direct homosexual expression. Men separated from the company of
women, struggling amongst themselves for mile (sexual) dominance, bonded
more strongly with each other than with women --the defining variables of
patriarchy in general, only here more nakedly visible-- all predispose
toward that end.
MALE-BONDING AND THE 'SCHOOL TIE'
Much the same, but in more refined circumstances, is found in the
traditional British educational system, likewise characterized by a
hierarchy of authority, male competitiveness under strict "discipline,"
male bonding exclusive of women -- and inevitable homosexuality. (Again,
we find here the double standard of private approval versus public
disapproval, indeed illegality.)
As part of a 'classical" education, as if coincidentally, young men read
accounts of the "noble" homoerotic love affairs between Greek heroes in
the Iliad and learn of the "noblest" form of erotic feeling, an essential
element of Greek pedagogy (and pederasty), through the learned dialogues
of Plato -- all in the course of an education designed to illuminate the
origins and development of the underlying themes of the Great Western
(patriarchal) Tradition, from its Greco-Roman (I-E) beginnings throughout
a long history culminating (for them) in the British Empire.
More accurately and more honestly, one might add, than elsewhere in the
modern West.
EVOLUTION of THE HOMOEROTIC WESTERN TRADITION
Taking a 'long view" of the history of the West --which is to say, the
history of the patriarchy, inclusive of Jewish history-- it is indeed true
that homosexuality (and a broader 'romantic" homoeroticism) has played an
important, if not essential, role in defining what a man is in this
male-dominated "for men only' culture, now no less than then.
In a shorter work offered elsewhere*, sketching stages in the progressive
development of narcissistic and misogynist masculine society as
"variations on a theme," we have indicated how intrinsic the (covert or
overt) homoerotic sentiment is to the psychology of the 'Philosopher," the
"Christian" cleric, and the modern scientist, as well as more obviously in
the warrior and statesman, as patriarchal 'types.'
We have also indicated the continuity of the abstract rationalist
("objective') intellectual component of the West despite the apparently
diverse clothing it assumes as stoic or ascetic Gnostic philosophy,
Catholic (Aristotelian via Aquinas) "theology," the Puritan-Protestant
pseudo-religion of "natural law," or its modern expression as Positivist
empiricism, applied science, industrialization, behaviorism, and
technology.
These may thus be recognized as 'introverted" expressions of the
anti-feminine, anti-subjective, and anti- natural orientation of
patriarchal consciousness.
The monkish intellectual in his milieu of abstractions and machines is too
seldom seen for what he is, a 'silent partner' to the will-to-power
expressed more obviously --in aggressive, extraverted form-- by his
warlord twin brother.
Here we are dealing with extraverted Power, primarily --with the Army,
warfare, hierarchies of State and Church in Empire, and the absolute power
of the warlord-Emperor ruling under the Father God-- but we should remain
aware of the supporting role played by theologians and scientists
(especially social scientists) who are called upon to justify Masculine
Will to the mind.
The "high priest" (Church) and warrior-king (State) are merely the left
and right hands of a single patriarchal body politic. Let us keep our eye
firmly fixed upon the underlying unity of the patriarchal dynamic, which
endures despite apparent internal conflicts of a more transient nature.
HOMOEROTICISM IN SEMITIC PATRIARCHY
Likewise, we have here attempted to demonstrate how I-E and Semitic
(Jewish) traditions are, at root and at flowering, a essentially one,
distinctions subsumed under the ultimate unity the patriarchal archetype.
One may reasonably expect to find the same elements and themes given
expression in both traditions, with only minor differences, ultimately of
less import than the common denominators.
This fact must be underlined as a preliminary before addressing what may a
ear to be significant differences between the two "tribes' in regard to
the subject matter presently under discussion: the homoerotic element in
patriarchal masculinity.
The predictable correlate of male-bonding in the Semitic Mannerbund
(Israel, God's Army) is evidenced by OT passages such as those (I Sam 18)
describing the 'brotherly" love of David and Jonathan, 'surpassing the
love of woman,' analogous to the homoerotic affairs of Greek gods and
heroes noted throughout mythology and Homeric epic.
Careful reading of the account, for example, of Abraham's sojourn in Sodom
attests to considerable tolerance of deviant practices --short of
permitting "idolatrous' race-mixing with 'heathens'-- common in the Near
East. When Lot was visited by "angels," whom the men of Sodom desired
sexually, the latter were turned away largely because of the patriarch's
concern for his obligations as host to the former. To emphasize this,
without hesitation he offered the Sodomites his own sons and daughters as
substitute sex objects.
Even in relatively late times, the Temple built (by Phoenician masons)
under David's son Solomon had its entourage of sodomite male prostitutes
(Qadoshim, 'Holy ones") only later condemned by the Elders of Israel
during one or another civil war aimed at religious reform.
The truth of the matter is that, contrary to the picture presented by
extensively rewritten Jewish history, the patriarhal religion of Yahweh
differed little, in practice, from the religion of "idolatrous' Canaanite
neighbors -- except in its emphasis on a violent militaristic racism and
"imperialism."
True, Mosaic Law (as it comes down to us) expressly forbids
homosexuality--this being, apparently, a common inclination--but the
greater number of these "thou shalt nots" dates from later times, from
post-Exilic reforms (e.g., by Ezra) retroactively ascribed to Moses
through forged documents such as the lost Book of Deuteronomy,
'discovered' under Josiah.
Thanks to measures such as these, Judaism did succeed, to a greater extent
than contemporary Greco-Roman culture, in suppressing homosexual practices
-- but not, however, homoerotic sentimentality.
For example, the special relationship between rabbi and disciple still
preserves much of the emotional intensity we otherwise find in Platonic
pedagogy, and general Jewish misogyny is typified by the prayer, "Thank
you, 0 Lord, for not having made me a woman.'
Nevertheless, we may safely say that, in modern orthodox Judaism, what
little remains of any earlier 'latent" homosexuality is negligible indeed.
FURTHER SECRETS of THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR
For the survival of these archaic Semitic practices, we must look to
"apostate" Jews such as the Knights Templar -- who (as earlier noted) seem
to have preserved the original sacrificial rituals as well. These
trustees of the Yahweh religion of Solomon's time (by their own account)
claim descent from the ' lost" or exiled tribe of Benjamin, set apart
--significantly-for favoring sodomy
However, among the Tribes of Israel, Benjamin also has a everal other
important distinctions. He was the youngest of Jacob's sons and one of
only two children born to Jacob's blessed wife Rachel -- the elder being
Joseph.
In the Genesis account, Benjamin did to Joseph exactly what Judas did
to Jesus: he betrayed him (sold him into slavery) for pieces of silver.
His deed becomes all the more significant when we realize also that his
brother Joseph (as High Priest under Pharaoh) is the earliest
representative of the "Messiah' archetype. As the "betrayer," Benjamin
plays a role very much like that of the Slayer in the patriarchal drama of
Slayer vs. Slain. Yet he was later forgiven and indeed cherished by both
Joseph and Judah.
Thus we find Benjamin alongside Joseph, the ruler of the Ten (Lost)
Tribes, as well as alongside Judah, the "royal" tribe of the remainder.
When the Jewish people chose David as their king (II Sam 19:17), Benjamin
was 'the house of Joseph," and rabbinical prophecy held that this tribe
would provide Jewry's last king, just as it had provided its first, Saul.
By the way, careful reading of Genesis reveals the "royal" tribe to be
that of Joseph, rather than Judah, which produces no kings until David is
given preference-- as the result of bloodshed-- over the Benjamite Saul.
Rather than being an historical digression, the foregoing is necessary
background for understanding the further claim made by the Knights Templar
-- that they are sworn guardians of a "secret aristocracy" among elite
Jews, composed of those descended from the "royal" line of Joseph (among
the Ten Lost Tribes exiled in the West) and from the Western line of Kings
of Judahl [Judah is kingless in the East-]
If we are to believe such a claim, this 'secret society' of "apostate
Jews" has secretly preserved not only the original rituals of patriarchal
Judaism but, with equal secrecy, its ruling dynasty of priest-kings as
welli
In view of all we have said elsewhere about the "apocalyptic"
politico-religious scenario of the patriarchy --the ultimate unification
of the (patriarchal I-E) Imperial State with reformed" (patriarchal Jewish
rather than Christian) Church, creating a common Western patriarchy
governed absolutely by a combined Emperor and Pope (Priest-King messiah)
under the Father God-- if there were any substance at all to their claim,
nothing could prove more useful in realizing this goal of the patriarchy.
For this reason, the Knights Templar and related secret orders become
exceedingly important.
Let us now examine some of the historical accounts charging these groups
--the Templars, Freemasons, and associated 'secret societies" of the
patriarchal "men's club'-- with ritualized homosexual practices.
HISTORICAL REFERENCES to DEVIANT SEXUAL PRACTICES
The earliest heresies, from the 2nd Century Gnostics to the analogous
Manichaeans, Cathars and Albigensians of a later era, have all been
accused of strange sexual practices, as diverse as promiscuity,
self-emasculation, and --as in the Gospel of Thomas which quotes Jesus as
saying, "I am come to destroy the work of woman"-- a misogynist
"brotherhood" at war with the Demiurge, an evil God who created the
universe.
Many of the writings of both heretics and Church Fathers from the first
few centuries A.D. express what can only be described as latent homosexual
inclinations. For example, we read in Origen this astounding bit of
patriarchal symbolism: "For us, seeking is as sucking, and we shall be
fulfilled by the Father's milk." Christian agape was regarded by many in
the late Hellenic (Romanized) world as analogous to Platonic eros.
Other Church Fathers such as St Augustine, on the other hand, went so far
as to castrate themselves -- in order to eliminate any possibility of
yielding to that temptress Woman.
These founders of the institutionalized Church waged centuries of war
against the primitive Christian tradition of married priests --deriving
from Judaism's insistence that rabbis be married in order to be made
"whole"-- until at last succeeding in making celibacy mandatory for
priests.
Monasteries became the Christian world's answer to armies, with a similar
emphasis on masculine exclusivity and male-bonding -- greatly appealing to
latent as well as overt homosexuals. The monastic community offered the
former a socially-approved sublimation of their impulses and the latter a
relativelyisolated 'closet' (cloister) in which to express the same more
crudely, as contemporary accounts note.
The pederastic friar was a comic figure, popular in folk humor of the
time. Before we dismiss this image as libellous, motivated solely by
hostility toward the Church, we should recognize the prevalence of
documented immorality even at the highest levels --incest, prostitution
and so on in the Vatican itself-- not many centuries afterward.
With an anti-feminine and anti-natural psychology, early Roman Catholic
Christianity was quite compatible with a homosexual orientation --if
"sublimated'-- and an open mind in this regard (of which feminists are
more capable) will be most illuminating for the historian, "explaining"
much of the oppressiveness that otherwise seems inconsistent with this
.religion of love."
One need only imagine these early tight-knit communities, populated by men
isolated from feminine company throughout their lifetimes, immersing
themselves in adoration of their (masculine) Beloved, Christ --offering
bliss 'surpassing that of woman"-- to get a sense of what that love might
easily be translated into, for those so inclined.
THE "GAY" TEMPLAR CENTURIES
When the Knights Templar, in the Crusades between 1099 and the
mid-13th Century, discovered the Arabic inclination toward "boy love"
--socially acceptable and justified by both Platonic and Sufi concepts
(e.g., Rumi's discovery of the Beloved through his male "soul mate"
Shamsi)-- the groundwork had already been laid for what others explained
as their adoption of "Oriental" homoerotic, and homosexual, practices.
One notes, however, that at the very beginning, the Templar emblem
shows two men on a single horse -- an unusually intimate, and suggestive,
arrangement.
Citing historical records, G. Legman's The Guilt of the Templars
describes the 'initiation ritual" of a novice Templar.
Presented nude to his superiors, first his penis and anus were kissed,
and then, being cautioned against the blandishments of woman, he was told
that it was preferable --to preserve his chastity!-- to "unite himself
carnally with any of the brethren, and submit himself passively to them if
asked."
Thus, when overthrown by order of the Pope and the King of France in
1314, the accusations of homosexuality --as the rule, not the exception--
were indeed well founded.
Let us keep in mind, also, that in 1314 the Templars were an empire
unto themselves, a military, banking and theological elite with thousands
of members throughout Europe, monopolizing European industry and
possessing the equivalent of billions of dollars. For over two centuries
they --and the homosexual ethic they d'spoused-- had literally ruled the
Christian world.
In this late medieval epoch, as in 'heroic' Greek society, the men of
nobility married only to produce heirs, reserving sexual love for their
"boy toys.'
For example, during this period, at the turn of the 14th Century, the last
Plantagenet kings in England -- Edward I and II-- were notorious for their
homosexuality.
An incongruous note is sounded by the fashion of Courtly Romance, exalting
Woman as the Beloved, but this will make more sense if we remember that
(1) it was promoted by ladies of the nobility, sexually neglected while
their lords were at war, (2) this was an "untouchable' --asexual-- love,
in many ways identical to the contemporary adoration of the Mother of God,
and (3) it was part of a slightly "theatrical' court atmosphere, which we
may best imagine to be often quite gay --in its modern sense--and rather
Hollywood at that!
Among the common people, by contrast, the status of woman was quite low,
although there, in that context, she was more of a sexual object and a
constant victim of rape by "noble" knights.
The same epoch is characterized by the persecution of heretical
"alternative Churches' such as the Cathars or the Albigensians in France,
which sometimes seem truly matriarchal (with a more heterosexually
oriented Courtly Romance) --thus earning the enmity of patriarchal
Templars and Rome-- and at others to be havens for exiled homosexual
Templars.
Occurring during a schism in western authority and within the Templars
themselves, it is difficult to sort out the elements responsible for the
wars against them -- but the accusation of homosexuality, suddenly out of
the closet and equally publicly condemned, appears here as well.
THE RENAISSANCE SEXUAL 'UNDERWORLD'
During the Renaissance's Hermetic revival --which included the
resurrection of the Platonic ideal of love-- one notes how common
homosexuality was among notables such as Leonardo da Vinci and
Michelangelo. It will not surprise us, then, that Da Vinci has been
revealed as the Grand Master of an occult order which traces its existence
to the earlier Templars.
In the later Elizabethan era, distinguished for its lusty heterosexuality,
we discover a counterpoint in the homosexuality of certain rulers with
"occult" leanings and certain celebrated figures identified as members of
the Rosicrucian and Masonic "secret societies" they patronized.
The Scottish Stuart kings (later Kings of England) were noted both for
their fondness for 'mignons' (youthful male lovers) and for their ties to
Templar cells surviving in Scotland and emerging, in the early 1600s,
transformed into the earliest definite Freemasonry.
Their French in-laws, Kings of France during the Huguenot civil wars, also
shared both their homosexual and occult interests, as noted by historians.
Francis Bacon, the father of empiricism and an early Rosicrucian, and
several of his associates in espionage, including playwrights Marlowe and
Johnson, have been identified as homosexual -said, as the -3 -- in an era
usually viewed, as we have mos. vigorously heterosexual.
Here it is wise to keep in mind that, in this period as in most of Western
history, there was little opprobrium attached to the active role in
homosexuality, with which we are dealing in the cases just cited. Some of
the aforementioned individuals might better be described as bisexual, in
present-day terms.
However, that would serve only to obscure the salient point her, that
"boy-love" represented a psychological and esoteric religious ideal for
them, aesthetically rooted in the Platonic revived by Hermeticism but,
more important still, functionally --pragmatically and politically--
associated with the "secret societies" in which these individuals played a
role.
ORIGINS of THE MASONIC SEXUAL RITUAL
As mentioned earlier, the initiation ritual of the Freemasons commemorates
the murder of that order's founder, which in turn recreates the sacrifice
of tile dying god Osiris in ancient Egyptian religion*.
The popular understanding of the myth holds that Osiris, the first
pharaoh-initiate, was murdered by his brother Set, who usurped the throne
and reigned for a "dark age." Afterwards Set was overthrown by the god's
posthumous heir Horus, guided from beyond the grave by Osiris, and the
latter god, in his role of Lord of the Afterlife, subjected the usurper to
judgment and ultimately punished him in the Underworld.
Much of this is analogous to Christian belief. There is more, however, as
Egyptologists who have analyzed the osirian mythos have discovered.
In the earliest era before Set became the Egyptian 'Devil" --until briefly
and unaccountably raised to pre- eminence among the Semitic Hyksos (in
company with the exiled Hebrews)-- that god had quite another character in
relation to Osiris.
He was, in fact, the high priest who initiated Osiris, thereby
guaranteeing the latter immortality, an there is not a single reference to
Osiris resisting his fate.
As brother and husband to Isis the Queen --pharaohs acquiring their status
through marriage, in what was in fact a matrilineal society-- Set
legitimately ruled Egypt, with Osiris assigned to the Other-world, until
challenged by Isis' child by Osiris, Horus. It is to be noted that, in
matrilineal societies, the Queen's brother had 'fatherly" authority and
was responsible for the initiation of her sons. Undoubtedly, then, Set
was responsible for Horus the heir's initiation -- and if he likewise
"initiated' Osiris, it is likely that this dark god reigned even before
the arrival of Osiris.

Both in his relation to Osiris and to Horus, Set has been portrayed in all
accounts as a homosexual, a shameful thing for the later Egyptians. For
the earlier Egyptians, on the other hand --as noted during discussion of
the "subjection" ritual---his (homo)sexual subjugation of the two was
quite typical and to be expected of an absolute ruler.
Furthermore, Set's murder of Osiris, interpreted as an 'initiation"
ritual, was apparently --according to the oldest records-- accompanied by
a sexual violation" of the latter, also part of the ritual. That much we
know, but no fuller description of the event survives, because it was
regarded as a "mystery" to be withheld by the priests of the god.
In accounts of the conflict between Set and the heirapparent Horus,
similarly, there are repeated references to Set and Horus as lovers as
well as rivals, with the elder god described as making numerous sexual
advances toward the younger, who sometimes resists and sometimes complies.
Shocked to find such behavior treated as central to the myth,
Egyptologists were finally led to conclude that this was a reference not
to personal inclinations but to primitive religious rituals accompanying
accession to the throne.
The homosexual relationship between set and Osiris, running parallel to
their roles of Slayer and Slain, is thus a matter of immense significance
when considering the survival of EgyptoPhoenician (ur-Semitic) ritual
among the Templars and later Freemasons -- and when considering also, in
this light, the claims put forth by those "secret societies" that they are
trustees of the true meaning of Christianity, derived from it.
We will return to this topic, and its implications, later.
EARLY FREEMASONRY
With the development of Freemasonry proper, in the early 1700s, there
seems --from what little evidence we we have-- less inclination toward
homosexuality among the British and German participants than among the
French. The Orleanist (Catholic) dignitaries of a peculiarly French
Freemasonry seem to have favored it in the late 1700s. At any rate, the
Masonic Temple of that period seems to have been a safe haven for large
numbers of individuals with that sexual orientation, as footnoted by the
Larousse Encyclopedia.
"TABOOS' in THE COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS
We might note, in passing, that while official historians tend to single
out the heterosexual excesses of this period-- and most periods in
general-- they generally avoid comment on the homosexual proclivities of
any personages of lesser importance than heads of state, apparently from
discomfort with the whole subject. Such things, however, do rise to the
attention of independent researchers, examining the primary sources, who
may not know what to make of them.
Given the prevalence throughout past centuries of alternative sexual
orientations, which are often --as we are demonstrating here-- key
indicators of other matters of great sociological import, a lacuna in this
realm produces an erroneous picture of history --one to which non-sexist
scholars and historians of sexuality should object-- and obscures what
would otherwise be seen as a recurrent, if not central, theme in the
patriarchal history of the West.
Furthermore, this blind spot in our attention serves only to render more
'invisible' --conveniently-- those elements which are essential to
recognition of the nature of patriarchal power. For the 'secret
societies' we are describing, even relative (imperfect) secrecy is quite
sufficient for their purposes, because we have already internalized a
'taboo' on seeing certain things which might lead to their exposure ...
Compare this phenomenon with what we noted earlier about the taboo on
seeing (and identifying with) the Slayer -- the Murderer of Christ --
imbedded in our very consciousness.
These two examples alone are sufficient to prove that we are subject to
non-perceptions, hence misunderstandings, wherever we come too close to
knowledge of the true nature of the power elite. Thus --no differently
than in the case of the 'taboos' of the primitive 'men's club'-- our
unconsciousness (ignorance) guarantees all the more certainly it exercise
of power over us.
If that were not enough, the currently fashionable attitude which
uncritically tolerates homosexuality -- supported by a number of skewed
official "interpretations" of its role in human society-- makes it
impossible to examine any of its implications which might possibly be
negative. No finer discriminations are permitted within blanket approval.
The threat of ostracism implicit in the label "anti-Semitic" has had a
similar effect, giving free rein to certain specific individuals or groups
--who may just happen to be Jewish also-- to exploit others without fear
of judgment or punishment.
It is ironic how the search for objective truth is compromised by the
seeker's sensitivity to subjective pressures, such as fear of disapproval
by academic "authorities" with influence over public opinion -- who may
have vested interests in promoting falsehoods which guarantee their own
position in the patriarchal pecking order.

Let us state a 'first principle' to reflect upon:
In the real world of patriarchy, "truth' is instrumental --only that which
is useful to power is adjudged 'true."
TURN-OF-THE-CENTURY FREEMASONRY
Throughout the period of the late British Empire, the civil service
governing Britain's colonial possessions was thoroughly integrated with
Freemasonry, which was to the Protestant Empire what the medieval Templar
'state within the state" was to the Vatican's Holy Roman Empire. Those
familiar with the internal affairs of England are matter-of-factly aware
of the exalted role played by the Masonic Temple.
To a degree in common with few other Western nations (except for France)
Masonic rank seems a prerequisite for high political, intelligence,
military or ecclesiastical office in England, and nearly every British
prime minister --from Disraeli(l) through Balfour(2), fr-om Churchill(3)
through Anthony Eden-- and nearly every outstanding military leader
.--e.g., General Allenby(4) and T. E. Lawrence(5)-- has admitted to being
a Freemason. Let us keep that fact in mind in considering what follows.
Around the turn of the century, financier Cecil Rhodes set out to revive
the dying glory of the British Empire, threatened by the growing power of
its "colony," the United States.
In partnership with the most exclusive Lodge of British Freemasonry
(admitting only statesmen and diplomats), Lord Rothschild and his relative
Lord Rosebury, and emissaries of American magnates J. P. Morgan, Andrew
Carnegie and J. D. Rockefeller, Rhodes created an order dedicated to
crystallizing an Anglo-American "Empire" which would supervise Western
administration of the Third World.
That Order has had complete control over the Western world for nearly a
century, as respectfully acknowledged and detailed by eminent historian
and diplomat Carroll Quigley, who has had access to its private papers.
Quigley admired it so much he regretted the secrecy it felt was necessary
and voiced the wish that its work be made public, as something quite
honorable and in the best spirit of the Western Tradition.
Anyone who wishes to examine Quigley's tome, Tragedy and Hope --a
diplomatic history of the 29th Century-- will find convincing evidence of
the aforementioned 'conspiracy,' a modern "secret society' answering our
description of the "Men's Club," in terms bearing no comparison to
paranoid crank claims.
To disregard such documentation --from the most reputable sources
imaginable-- is wholly counter to reason.
(1) Who warned that "secret societies" ruled the world. (2) Whose Balfour
Declaration announced the State of Israel. (3) Who Presided over designs
for a United States of Europe (4) Who captured Jerusalem from the Turks,
for the West in WWI (5) Who allied Britain with Near East Sufi "secret
orders".
HOMOEROTICISM in MODERN FREEMASONRY
Cecil Rhodes, the founder of Anglo-American Freemasonry, is notable for a
personal peculiarity which is mnrp directly relevant to the subject of
this paper. After the death of this man, noted for his lifelong
abstention from feminine companionship, his library was found to contain
entire shelves devoted to phallic worship and homosexuality among the
ancient Greeks.
Along with his public dedication to the classical roots of the western
Tradition, culminating in the British Empire --the guiding ideal for has
ultimate Anglo-American Empire-- Rhodes seems to have been especially
devoted, in private, to the very same homosexual subplot we have here
defined as its "secret."
If Freemasonry in general has been characterized by a homophile
orientation, and if Rhodesian Freemasonry - -except for its American and
Canadian Rhodes scholars* and its other "Anglophile" statesmen like
ex-Senator Fulbright-- is staffed by graduates of t'ne British school
system, in which homoeroticism is the rule, in a country where "buggery"
is almost a national pastime, one must entertain certain suspicions about
its norms...
We must also examine with new eyes, opened by knowledge of the
foregoing, this constantly recurring theme in the history of Cold War
intelligence: high-level British intelligence agents (and Americans with
British relatives in intelligence) accused of being spi,es, who "just
happen to be' homosexuals as well If homosexuals are security risks, being
vulnerable to blackmail, as generally stated, it is incomprehensible that
so many of them are nevertheless --in full knowledge of their
inclinations-- permitted the highest security clearances. Obviously there
is more here than meets the eye.
The two attributes --espionage and homosexuality-- occur together so
often, indeed, that it cannot be mere coincidence.
In support of this observation, one notes that, according to numerous
statements made by diplomats in the British and European press,
intelligence agencies must be on guard against infiltration by an

HOMOEROTICISM in 'ARYAN' TEMPLAR ORDERS
Contemporary with Rhodes, Aleister Crowley --notorious for his
homosexuality and his blood sacrifices-- journeyed to the Continent in
search of "secret societies" more compatible with his peculiar
inclinations. (opinions are divided on the issue of whether he did this
under orders from his Masonic superiors.) In Germany he was welcomed by
the Order of the Oriental Templars, claiming descent from the original
Knights of that name.
The OTO possessed "secrets,' Crowley reported, including a method for
acquiring magical powers through specifically homosexual acts, which had
come down to them from the Near East India. This is consistent with what
we already know of the or earlier Knights Templar.
In Europe, the OTO had a membership interlocking with other German "Secret
societies" such as the Thule Gesellschaft and the Armaneri order, which
espoused racist (Aryan, anti-Semitic) and nationalist (German "Manifest
Destiny") views of history in addition to --and consistent with-- their
occult beliefs. Various Lodges of British Freemasonry had similar ties.
Like the OTO, all of these groups --according to the best evidence-- were
reported to favor deviant sexual practices.
It was during this period that Germany (and much of the world) had become
magnetized by that spurious' document, "The Protocols of the Elders of
Zion," and had begun to dream of an Aryan (I-E) Empire which would
resurrect the ancient Teutonic patriarchal system and its worship of Wotan
-- a Nordic counterpart to Jehovah, the God of War, or --as a 'mad god"--
Satan.
Such a "Thousand Year Reich" would require an absolute ruler, an Emperor,
or more precisely, in German, a "Fuhrer" (Cf. Caesar, Czar, etc.)... The
patriarchy was being reborn, but, from fear of a Zionist "conspiracy,"
divided' within itself -split between I-E and Semitic tribes ...

of the Nazi party --including Hitler-- had been actual members of, or had
been inspired by, the Thule Society or other early occult-racist "secret

It is not surprising, then, to discover how many highranking members of

For the record, it was only later in the war, and on lower levels, that
homosexuality was condemned and persecuted. (Even then, homosexuals in the
elite corps were tolerated.) It is important to make this distinction,
lest we be distracted from the salient point by the more emotional --but
less discrimfna-ting-- issue of the 'Pink Triangle.'
HOMOSEXUAL VIOLENCE in THE PATRIARCHY
As earlier mentioned, it is alleged that a Satanic "Black Templar' order
existed in Nazi Germany, which revered the Spear of Destiny that pierced
the side of Christ.
In Wolfram von Eschenbach's story of the Grail, a "bloody lance'
responsible for the Fisher King's wound is mentioned, and it was described
as being in the possession of the Knights Templar, guardians of the Grail.
The Fisher King is of course symbolic of the Fisher of Men, Christ, who
was in effect slain by the centurion's spear, which pierced his side --
according to the relevant NT passages.
As reinterpreted by the Knights Templar, however, we note a significant
change in detail. The Slain God's wound is located now "between the
thighs," rendering Him sterile in this world. The Slayer has, in fact,
castrated the Slain -- and with a .sacred weapon" that originates in the
earliest religious symbolism of the patriarchy.
In the mythos honored by that group associated with the Templars, the
Freemasons, Osiris was not only murdered by Set (his "initiator") but
castrated* by him as well. The hieroglyph which gives us Set's name is
that knife which creates eunuchsl
These two facts must give us pause, because they say, in effect, that the
patriarchal interpretation of Christianity holds that the Slayer
--exemplar of absolute power, the Ruler of this World, under the Father
God-- not only kills, but sexually violates, and indeed emasculates, the
Slain, the Son of God.
While emphasizing this statement, let us keep in mind that the Slayer is
described as being a homosexual -- but in the active, dominating role.
The Slain, ubmitting passively if not voluntarily, is viewed as losing his
manhood altogether, and is not only excluded thereby from the patriarchy
but from the world itself, exiled to the outermost reaches of an
"Otherworld."
Let us keep in mind the patriarchal definitions of masculinity, which do
not define "sexuality" as we do here, in order to avoid semantic
confusion. The Slayer, back to Set, is the exemplar of "true manhood."
The patriarchy would find nothing "unmanly" about the active homosexuality
that this paper has judged to be a "deviant sexual practice."

THE 'MEN'S CLUB' TODAY � IDENTIFIED
In 1982 BBC researchers* Baigent, Lincoln and Leigh, in a controversial
worldwide best-seller called Holy Blood, Holy Grail --followed by a 1986
sequel, The Messianic Legacy-- revealed the existence of the ultimate
'sic-re society," the-Priory of Sion.
(Publication of this book amounts to a "leak" intended by the Priory
itself, for its own purposes.)
The Priory of Sion --an occult-political order seeking the apocalyptic
destiny we have described here-- numbers among its members the
heir-apparent to the Holy Roman Empire, Otto von Habsburg, most of the
reigning kings and princes of European states, diplomats of the Common
Market, international bankers such as the Rothschilds, and so on -- as
well as an "AngloAmerican" group composed of celebrated SIS and OSS
operatives from WWII (possibly including the Dulles brothers) and Cold War
statesmen.
In Europe, particularly in England and France, no one disputes that the
Priory exists and numerous kings have outright admitted to their
affiliation with it. If we choose to dismiss the Priory as a paranoid
delusion, we are contesting the public testimony of those who actually, in
fact, govern us all.
The Priory of Sion claims to be the parent organization responsible for
the Knights Templar and the Freemasons, as well as many other "secret
societies" we have noted in passing, such as the Rosicrucians and the
Hermeticists. They make the same claims we have attributed to the
Templars and Freemasons in regard to their trusteeship of the original
patriarchal traditions, the "true' interpretation of Christianity, and the
living descendants of the House of David, Kings of Judah, all of which
have been discussed in this paper.
Their avowed goal at present--which is being realized through their
involvement in the tentative "United states of Europe" due in 1992 and the
role they have played in raising Gorbachev to power in the USSR-- is the
creation of a Western Judeo-Christian Empire (including the US, through
Anglo-American union) centered on a Priest-King in Jerusalem. This,
likewise, we have described in detail.
European statesmen, many of them members of the Priory, support these
goals as the path to ultimate world unity, individual freedom, and global
peace -- undoubtedly true.
Everything that has been presented in this paper, about the patriarchal
system and its elite "men's club,' is TRUE.
Unfortunately, what we have presented about the dark secrets of the
patriarchal elite --human sacrifice and homosexuality---must, therefore,
also be true ...

HOMOEROTICISM in THE ULTIMATE MEN'S CLUB' Because of the greatest secrecy
obtaining at the highest levels of this ultimate "secret society" --one
remove from the absolute inner core of the "Men's Club'-- we know little
of the actual ritual practices of the Priory of Sion. One cannot say
whether the sacrifice and sodomy which is typical of its offspring, the
Knights Templar and Freemasons, is likewise typical of the parent
organization, but one may presume that it is.
Baigent, Lincoln and Leigh offer only this one quote from a member of the
Priory, suggesting that this may be the case:
"Sometimes (the "King") dispatches some brilliant ambassador to his vassal
in power, his factotum, one who has the felicity of being subject to death
..."
This is somewhat suggestive of the ritual deaths to which certain notables
have submitted, for unknown reasons -- at unknown hands. one may suspect
what one will.
On the subject of sodomy, the Priory claims Benjamite origins, upholds the
symbolism of two Templars on a single horse, and otherwise diverges little
from our analysis. Furthermore, the Priory numbers among its past Grand
Masters Leonardo da Vinci (noted earlier as a homosexual) and more
recently, Jean Cocteau, also notable for his homosexuality. Here again,
we have no conflicting evidence.
David Wood, another British researcher investigating the Priory of Sion,
is more enlightening.
In his book Genisis, he reveals the Priory's symbolism regarding Jesus an
Mary Magdalene to be a "cover story" for the worship of Osiris, Isis and
Set -- the latter described as the true (diabolical) Creator. In pointing
out the identity of the Madonna and Isis, one is reminded that (according
to the oldest records) she colluded with her brother Set in the murder of
Osiris. What we have said about the sexual proclivities of Set remains
true in this context.
Wood also explores the "mysteries' of the Knights Templar and arrives at
the (debatable) conclusion that they practiced ritual self-emasculation --
or at least emasculation of someone. If Osiris is the victim and Set the
victor, the Templars as Slayers by identification confirms our
observations here. The subject of 'sex magic" and a strange sort of
"spiritual phallicism" is discussed, but one remains unconvinced that
Woods has hit upon the correct interpretation of the symbols.
All this seems to support, rather than deny, the arguments made here in
regard to "secrets of the patriarchy," which should, barring other
considerations, apply equally well to the Priory.
only one "proviso" remains, that might exempt the absolute inner core of
the patriarchal "Men's Club" from the charges this paper has put forward,
but that will be the subject of our concluding statements.
Before we come to that, let us review the facts as presented in this paper
and consider these psychologically.
THE BOTTOM LINE: WHAT THE 'SECRETS' of PATRIARCHAL CONSCIOUSNESS CONCEAL
The patriarchy, according to the historical evolution we have outlined, is
founded upon masculine sexuality -- phallic libido-- and upon the
aggressive Will it expresses.
The chief characteristic of that Will is its activity, applied
exclusively, against all opposition, toward dominance -toward ultimate,
absolute Power. All that resists must be destroyed, and all that yield
--those defeated by it-- are humiliated and held in contempt. It brooks
no conflict, within or without, because such conflicts reduce the
absoluteness of Will, strengthened primarily by its unity.
Thus, phallic masculinity seeks to subject all objects (including other
human beings) to its Will, dominating them if they submit (obey) ,
destroying them if they resist (rebel).
The weaker or wilier --women, children and the 'unmasculine"-- submit and
become servants of power, subjects under control. Power grows by having
weaker dependents.
The strong --other males-- fall into two classes: brothers
(male-bondsmates) within the tribe, under the same Father-God, and enemies
outside the tribe, their Father-God at war with one's own Father-God,
i.e., serving an "Evil" (because other) God.
Brothers who are defeated symbolically submit and become one's
subordinates in the chain of command. Enemies who are defeated submit and
become prisoners (slaves) -- or else continue to resist and are killed.
In the ultimate contest, one between equals in rivalry for dominance,
power is achieved only through breaking the other's Will -- symbolically
(socially) through sexual subjugation, permanently through castration, and
ultimately through murder. Through such rituals patriarchal Power is
affirmed.
On a collective level, a hierarchic "pecking order" of individual Wills
--the Mannerbund of the Army/State/Empire-with a supreme Warlord-King at
the apex of this pyramid, is the vehicle for unity. The Warlord- King, as
Emperor, has a power equal to the sum total of all lesser Wills and is
subject to no higher Will, except perhaps the Will of God.
This pyramid maintains its internal order-in-chaos --its dynamic tension--
through the struggle for dominance on the part of all its members, who
rise or fall according to the ruthlessness of their wills. The game
pyramid as the patriarchy itself, as an Empire, maintains its integrity
while growing tnrough subjection of all its lesser wills --at home or in
territories abroad-- to the same struggle, through war.
The same psychological structure, as a dynamic, is projected onto the
macrocosm, visualized as a God of Dominant Will --the "one and only,"
absolutely powerful Father-God-- holding sway over a pyramidal
(hierarchic) Creation sustained by the unification and centralization of
all lesser wills.
Nature is only raw material --a plastic medium, in itself chaotic-- to be
transformed into a more suitable order, as the object of His Will. God is
the Fashioner, using the archetypal equivalent of Tools -- Weapons to
resistant matter.
In this equation, one notes, matter is resistance (evil) while Spirit is
Will (good), revealed as Energy, Fire and Light.
THE DOUBLE-BIND of PATRIARCHAL PSYCHOLOGY
The Father-God is imagined to stand in relation to humankind (mankind
in the patriarchy) in the same fashion as one's own Will to all others,
striving for absolute dominance. One submits (obeys) or else one is
destroyed. "Fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom." Yet God demands
that men, made in His image, express His will in striving for Power -
Since God the Father and human beings who exercise an analogous
"father function' --one's own father and unrelated males in authority--
are psychologically identified, patriarchal man faces an essentially
Oedipal dilemma:
He must fear the Father and submit to his power, yet, in order to express
his manhood, he must seek to dominate even Him. He must challenge Him
without fear, seek to overthrow Him, and, if successful, take His place.
Thus does the Son become, in his turn, a Father -- "I and the Father are
One." If unsuccessful, on the other hand, his damnation and destruction
are assured!
Patriarchal man's Oedipal problems, resolved through violence (and with
not a little guilt) inpoliticalrealm, do not admit of such solutions at
the height of his power, when he stands contemplating none but God above
him. When near-absolute power is attained, the psychological double-bind
of patriarchal masculinity suddenly returns, more dramatically than ever,
as a spiritual double-bind -- a religious problem --
How to deal with the Father God -- if He really exists?
The attitude of the patriarchal ruler (and of the power elite
collectively) toward God the Father as Ultimate, Absolute Power --the
projected patriarchal ego-ideal-- is necessarily ambivalent: admiring but
envious and resentful.
Admired and obeyed, but with the humbling of one's masculine Will, God is
the Good God of popular religion.
Envied and resented for that humiliation, God is the Evil God -- God the
oppressor, forbidding masculine self- assertio-n through rebellion, whom
the ruler hates as much as those subject to his rule hate him!
-Here we discover the psychological origins of the God of Death --Satan--
in the patriarchal elite's religion of Power.
THE SCAPEGOAT SON OF GOD The ruler of the patriarchy, the Son in
the image of the Ram God, dare not submit himself to God, for that would
constitute a loss of his masculine Will and would (so he believes)
dishonor him before his God, perceived as the masculine Father. Yet he
dare not refuse, for resistance is treason against God ...
As a way out, he takes the quantum leap of identifying himself with his
God and insists that his son do what he could not, submit as sacrifice to
God. (We are describing Abraham and Isaac here, of course, at the origins
of patriarchy.)
According to the OT account, which may have suffered some editing, Isaac
is miraculously relieved of this obligation and the first
animal-substitute sacrifice is inaugurated. A ram is slaughtered instead.
However, a pattern of "pass the buck" has been established, in which
patriarchal rulers, escaping submission to God through the artifice of
arrogating unto themselves a "godlike" power over life and death, must pay
their debt by sacrificing others. Those victims are "scapegoats" (an QT
invention) for their sin of disobedience, which proves their debatable
manhood.
The pattern is finally broken only when Joshua ben Joseph of Nazareth
--Jesus the Christ-- assumes Godhead through a literal sacrificial death
in submission to God the Father. This a symbolic gesture by which worldly
power -- sustained only by Violence and destruction-- is renounced, by one
who has all the credentials and all the authority to declare himself
messiah � Priest-King of the Jews-- and thus all the right to exercise
absolute rule. This "Lamb of God" sought no substitute.
Furthermore, rather than defining the Father as a God of Law under will,
requiring the subjugation of all mankind through the Son-ruler's power,
this King Jesus defined Him as a god of Love, wishing for all mankind to
live in harmonious equality through identification with the compassion
manifest in the Son-ruler's all-embracing love.
Moreover, this God of Love was no longer a masculine Father but was
apparently androgynous, as much "feminine" as 'masculine" --evading
anthropomorphism altogether, in the purest tradition of Judaism-- given
"His" identification with a Holy Spirit generally disembodied, although
occasionally even feminine* In this God's image, Jesus the man was
similarly androgynous, courageously masculine (but nonviolent) one moment
and tenderly caring the next, honoring men and women alike as his
siblings.
This new ego-ideal of man (and woman) constituted a great offense to the
patriarchy -- and a threat.
Consequently, to preserve the patriarchal dignity of the 1 mperial ruler
(and his power elite), Christ had to be regarded as a rebel against God
--a projection of the patriarchal male's own Luciferian resentment-- and
as punished by God, via the Emperor, for that rebellion. He had to be
seen as defeated, rendered powerless in this world, exiled to an Afterlife
where he would be harmless against patriarchal rule. He had to be
portrayed as effeminate --a projection of the patriarchal ego-and as
worthy of masculine contempt.
Above all else, the possibility of a higher spiritual value than worldly
power, or a force more potent than aggression, had to be eliminated.
The patriarchal interpretation of Christianity --which the Romanized
Church, the Judaizing Protestant Church, and the heretical 'Churches" of
the Knights Templar and Freemasons all support, in progressive degrees--
amounts to a denial of the symbolic message of Christ, a falsification of
its psychology, and a complete inversion of its theology.
The Old God of the patriarchy --who never existed except as a projection
of men in Western culture anyway-- was overthrown two thousand years ago,
and is dead, but stubbornly holds on to power, as a Devil or anti-God,
only thanks to a violence that has outlived its usefulness (if it ever had
any) and now opposes Life itself, as the last opponent.
The patriarchal ego stands alone and defenseless, defending itself against
the larger psyche and psychological forces beyond its comprehension. A
"matriarchal" counterpole has surfaced to undermine it and ultimately
bring it back to balance within a psyche, a social order, and a God which
is neither male- nor female-dominated, neither Slayer nor Slain, oppressor
or oppressed.
The 'taboos' of the 'men's club' have been violated --have been seen
through by those no longer under their 'spell'-- and the secrets of
patriarchy have been revealed ...
The Christian "Kingdom not of this world," which may be thought of as
those aspects of personal and collective human being repressed by
patriarchal ego-consciousness into the "unconscious" realm, is equally
conscious now and has risen in revolt, re-entering this world, where it
remains --thanks to the patriarchy's own Fl-ind spots and therefore
weaknesses-"invisible.'
"Behold, the Kingdom is among you!"
The end of the patriarchy is nigh
The death of patriarchal consciousness and power may occur, not from the
bottom of the pyramid or at its outermost limits, as one might believe,
but at the very apex of power and in the innermost core of the "men's
club."
In our concluding chapter, on what may be the ultimate "secret" of
patriarchy, we will suggest the reason why this is likely to be the case
...
5 5 THE FINAL SECRET of THE ILLUMINATI At the very
beginning of this paper, we moderated our judgments of the "men's club" by
proposing that what was true on high levels may not necessarily be true on
the highest -suggesting that, while the symbolism may be the same, the
meaning may be somewhat altered, perhaps in a more positive direction.
This may or may not be true, but we are required to admit this benefit of
a doubt, since conclusive evidence of what goes on in the innermost circle
is lacking.
At the very apex of the pyramid of power, the conflicts inherent in the
one-sided commitments of patriarchy become intensified and produce a
psychological and spiritual crisis. At the apex, these imbalances
challenge the very order of the psyche, in which ego and Will are but part
of a larger whole. At this point, one must face the self- annihilation of
madness -- or the possibility for self-transcendence and enlightenment.
According to the "matriarchal' metaphysics of the I Ching, and the
universal principle of dialectic conflict which Jung termed enantiodromia,
at the point of its most extreme expression one pole (Yin or Yang,
masculine or feminine) transmutes into its opposite. In other words, at
an extreme beyond which no further movement in the same direction is
possible, consciousness undergoes a radical reversal of polarity, a "pole
shift."
If this is true, something utterly remarkable (and otherwise unexpected)
becomes possible at the apex of the pyramid, where the patriarchy's
dualistic choice --and therefore dilemma-- is consciously confronted.
There, the possessors of near-absolute power must choose between two
alternatives�
The first, an act of ultimate, irreversible violence, whereby power
destroys all that it has power over, everything, and hence itself as
well... This is the fate which it has, originally nd eternally, fought so
violently against others to escape. Here power confronts its internal
contradiction, a mindwarping double-bind, and a paradox more enlightening
than any Zen koan . . .
The only other alternative, then, is the second: cessation from action,
ego-death (not necessarily physical death) and a self-abnegating surrender
to the opposite element --all that has been heretofore feared and resisted
for all its "otherness"-motivated by an existential instinct for survival
and self-preservation, accompanied (one imagines) by a veritable
lightning-bolt of illumination revealing (or rationalizing) what this mean
It means for one thing, that one's human Self survives even when one's
masculine ego is utterly destroyed, and that there is a humanness, and a
God which has that form, beyond the biological division of labor which
gender represents.
It also means that there is a higher form of consciousness and being
greater than its division, on a lower level, into dualisms of patriarchal
'masculine' and matriarchal 'feminine,' half-consciousness limited in
their Will by this self-division.
Of course, those hungering for participation in absolute power --the power
elite-- will choose, if they are sane (a major assumption), to
'compromise' a lesser good --the Will of ego� or a greater ...
Perhaps this is what the patriarchal encounter with God is a 11 about
after all -- or rather, was, before it chose to "pass the buck' to
surrogate victims, creating a culture based on the destruction of others.
Perhaps, at the apex of patriarchal power, in the innermost circle of the
'men's club,' the Slayer may look upon the Slain and suddenly discover, as
in a mirror, not an enemy but a brother, holding the Way to a higher order
of being in the Egyptian mythos revered by the Knights Templar, the
Freemasons, and the Priory of Sion, it was Set the Slayer who stood before
his victim, now his judge, in the Great Hall of the Last Judgment in the
'Otherworld' -- a realm that is not .elsewhere" but is in this world,
invisibly, of which patriarchal half-consciousness is unaware and to which
it is, in its unconsciousness, subject. For Set, Osiris was his Bright
Half, the Twin Soul, which he cut out of his being by violence.
Perhaps more revealingly than its Christian counterpart, the Osiris
archetype represents the Judgment of the Innocent against the Guilty,
Slayer judged by Slain, with Set the exemplar of what is evil -- the
patriarchal will to Power. The Eater of souls, who executes the Judgment,
demonstrates that the Will that prevails by violence in the world of power
does not survive the real world, seen as a whole, in which that will is
reduced to carrion through its own ultimate weakness, lacking Love.
Likewise, while the ego's vision of life, projected in Romanized Christian
iconography, sees only the Slain submitting to the power of the Slayer,
what is outside the ego --which has the power to engulf it-- sees the
missing half of the Christian drama: the Slayer submitting to the power of
the Slain.
The Heavenly King is dead . . . but long live the King!
It is possible, therefore, that the ultimate secret bf the �men's club,'
and the ultimate fear of the patriarchy, is that masculine will is not
supreme�
that power most be maintained not only by violence but by decetion,
through the 'taboos' and cover stories' promoted to blind potential
opponents to the truth�
that the masculine will, in its opposition to the feminine and to a whole
composed of both principles in harmonious " elation, wages a losing war
against the Will of a God who is not just the Father -- and who, even if
He were, would not wish such a Son to prevail, much less rule -- and who
May be big Adversary.
Let us remember the primitive �men's club' and take a second look at the
Elder Males, secluding themselves in terror of feminine "magic,'
intimidating women and children, deceiving others into believing that they
are as gods, resorting even to violence--a proof of their weakness, from
lack of genuine authority--to maintain their delicate prerogatives . . .
Let us look at them, their pathetic delusions of grandeur exposed for all
to see, reduced to trickery in order to satisfy their twisted needs,
exploiting the weak, dependent and ignorant, bribing those actually
stronger, gleefully buggering little boys while shunning the company of
women, torturing those who have higher qualities of manhood that put them
to shame ...
We must look beyond the respect and fear they have worked so cunningly to
instill in us --through violence and threats of violence, through
mystification, "magic" (such as technology) and manipulation of an
ignorance for which they are responsible--and, daring to accuse them of
what they fear the most---weakness, stupidity, inferiority, unmanlinessl--
LAUGH AT THEM.
The Patriarchy has no po er which it has earned, or which it deserves.
What it has, it obtained by the stratagems of the weak an unworthy:
trickery, coercion, bribery, blackmail, murder. The Patriarchy has

Let their 'secrets' be revealed. Let the pathology --the sicknesses and
perversions-- they conceal be exposed in the light of day, for all to see.
Let the guarded doors of the Imen's club' be thrown open, that all who
have been shut out may enter and do what they will to redress the
grievances of centuries.
The masquerade is over. Off with the boogeyman masks! Patriarchal men
and Gods are merely, pathetically frightened little boys. In order for
them to become real men, they must first become human beings!
