Cell phones causing Hypothyroidism ?
Moderate cell phone usage was shown to lower serum TSH
(thyroid stimulating hormone - a pituitary hormone) by an
average of 21% after three weeks. Cell phones were used
only 2 hours per day, 5 days per week, by male volunteers.
The test ended after the lowered TSH was observed for one
week (the fourth week of the test).
More 'testing' is currently being conducted on millions of
adults and children, around the world -- without their
awareness or permission -- and without planned monitoring
or treatment of any resulting lowered thyroid function.
Should an invisible epidemic of hypothyroidism result from
this microwave radiation experiment, secondary symptoms of
depression, obesity, arthritis, etc., will continue to
'mysteriously' increase.
Similarly, no known warnings, monitoring, or care are
planned for the growing tens of thousands of people living
near the rapidly increasing numbers of cell-phone microwave
antenna towers. These 'guinea-pig people' are now being
involuntarily irradiated with continuous floods of
microwaves, 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, year after year.
This flood of microwaves is expected to grow exponentially
in total power during the coming decade, as high-speed,
broadband, wireless, "always-on" internet appliances become
more common than telephones. Neighbors' appliances will
radiate families through their walls, floors, and ceilings.
Outside microwave signals will be beamed directly through
your home, your body, and through your brains, so as to
follow the shortest and cheapest route to their target.
Not to worry, we are told there are no known health risks.
The study showing cell phone use significantly reduces the
pituitary output of TSH was published in Bioelectromagnetics,
volume 19, pages 271-278. It was deceptively titled:
"GSM radiocellular telephones do not disturb the
secretion of antepituitary hormones in humans".

A spectrum of endocrine responses has been tested in male
volunteers chronically exposed to GSM cell phone fields
2 h/day, 5 days/week for one month [de Seze et al., 1998].
Endpoints included serum adrenocorticotropin, thyrotropin,
growth hormone, prolactin, luteinizing hormone and follicle
stimulating hormone. The only significant change was a 21
percent decrease in thyrotropin concentration in the fourth
week of phone use but recovered completely within two weeks
of completion of exposure.
