Peace at any cost is a Prelude to War!
A FREE PRESS COSTS REPUBLICANS
"Balance," to the national media, is three
sniveling liberals shouting down a conservative. But,
finally, the people are catching on and starting to protest.
Somewhat of a protest started last weekend.
One closet-conservative producer admitted
privately that he received over one-hundred complaints
about how the people on his program handled the subject of
Dick Cheney and G.W. Bush last weekend.
Vice President apparent Dick Cheney managed
to get himself on most of the shout shows last Sunday and
there was an interesting change of attitudes: Generally
speaking, Cheney's adult-style executive approach had a
calming effect on the hair-spray set and he tended to make
these "journalists" come off like somewhat polite people.
Even Sam Donaldson had to retract a couple of his (normally)
stupid questions and sounded like he was actually ready to
formally apologize for his silliness a couple times.
Clearly, Cheney had an effect on the talking heads neither
Clinton or Gore could never pull off. Cheney deserved, and
received, respect.
In fairness, all the media people were allowed
to talk about with Cheney were the talking points given
them by the White House war room. Therefore, all lost a
grand opportunity for a meaningful interview.
It seems that, while a Congressman, Cheney
voted to allow "plastic" guns into the country. I remember
that vote quite well because, at that time, I was already
practicing with my "plastic" Glock pistol and found it good.
And, as a matter of fact, I still own that very same handgun.
But, still today, the professional media whiners
do not seem to know that the original debate was about what
is now one of the most popular handguns for police work in
the country. Instead of doing their homework before
babbling on, they all ran with the White House provided
talking points.
It's the same with the "cop killer" bullets.
That was a scam, too. And, besides, no one would buy those
things anymore, anyway. There is much better ammunition
available in any gun store at a much lower price.
Bringing up Cheney's Nelson Mandela vote
was just as much of a sham. Mandela was the leader of a
communist-terrorist group that was trying to overthrow the
government of South Africa. While he was in jail, his wife
took over the group. And we know they were terrorists.
Anyone remember necklacing?
On the distaff side was Dr. Lynne Cheney,
interviewed by Washington brat Cokie Roberts. Well, let's
face it, folks . . . Cokie Roberts is not one of the brightest
lights in town and Dr. Cheney is. So, Cokie got her
comeuppance more than just once.
Cokie somehow forgot her far-left roots and
started in on the Cheney family -- namely the sexual
orientation of one of their daughters. It's interesting
how that works: Normal folks are not supposed to bring
that stuff up anymore -- not even in private conversation --
but the liberals can. And on national television, no less!
Yet, will Cokie dare report the fact that a
Gore kid was booted out of a private school for possessing
and using illegal drugs on campus? Fat chance! Nor would
she ask the burning question: What was the Secret Service
doing while this kid was getting high right in front of
them?
Suffice to say, give us a chance to interview Dick
and Lynne Cheney and we would have had a whole list of
pertinent questions to ask. Our questions, however, would
have concerned the direction the ship of state is to be
steered over these next four years. What most people want
to know concerns their own personal freedom, taxes, how
best to trim back government interference in our lives, etc.
There is not one of us out here who can benefit one iota
from knowing the personal proclivities of the Cheneys'
daughters. And, to be truthful about it, it's none of our
damn business anyway. Lowering taxes and getting rid of
some of those obnoxious regulators would win our approval
every time, though. That's what needs discussion.
(But, perhaps that is exactly why I am not a
journalist.)
The CNN journalist's forum also had major egg
on their collective faces last weekend. Howard Kurtz was
moderating a talk on "Reliable Sources" about how the
Washington press corps milk insignificant "news" into a
story when CNN broke in for what was called an "urgent"
event: John McCain's campaign bus arrived at his hotel in
Philadelphia. "Another historic moment in Philadelphia,"
Kurtz said.
Sure. Like anyone except McCain's core of
supporters in the media cares. And, even McCain's media
support is a scam on the Republican Party.
What is not said -- ever -- is that the far-left
national media support John McCain because, were he elected
president or chosen vice-president, it would positively ruin
the Republican Party for many years to come. The far-left,
of course wants that. So, they play their games.
There are some major facts not reported: John
McCain has a whole lot more skeletons in his closet than
just the Keating Five fiasco. He is not the most
psychologically stable person in Washington and can go off
on a vicious rant for any or no reason. Also, if one reads
the legislation he has submitted in the Senate, he seems to
tend a lot more towards fascism than conservatism.
His wife also has her own little scandals. Her
sentence for a felony was a few hundred hours of community
service. That was quite some time back. Yet, there has
thus far been no reports of her doing any of that community
service. Perhaps campaigning with John satisfied that?
Regardless, were John McCain to have any
position in the administration, his supporters in the media
would turn on him relentlessly.
Freedom of the press is not free. It costs
conservatives dearly with every news show.
IT'S TIME TO AGGRAVATE LIBERALS
It's time we all have a little fun and start
aggravating liberals as much as possible. After all,
that's what they're doing to conservatives.
Take, for instance, the words of that impeached,
perjuring philanderer of a president, Bill Clinton. Half
the time he babbles on without the slightest idea of what
the hell he's talking about.
Just last week, when the topic was Hillary's
U.S. Senate race, Clinton told a Fox Television Affiliate:
"Everybody that always hated me all those years and were so
mean to me, they've all transferred all their anger to her
now. It's almost as if they've got one last chance to beat
me."
No word if he stomped his feet or beat on the
table during yet another of his many tantrums. Obviously,
though, he's become an insufferable whiner.
A few days before that, Clinton told members
of the Party of the Ass attending a political clambake that
G.W. Bush's presidential campaign message could be summed
up as, "I've been governor of Texas, my daddy was president,
I own a baseball team, they like me down there." Last week,
a Clinton adviser told ABC News that Clinton doesn't regret
his attacks. "We're going to just keep talking about the
differences between the two parties, the two philosophies
and the two candidates," the Clinton crony said.
In other words, there's no way the vexatious
Clinton is going to shut up. The word "vexatious" fits
perfectly for Clinton and his far-left crowd, too.
Vexatious means: without probable cause and calculated to
harass or annoy.
So, OK, we can play, too.
I missed a Republican convention once, years
ago. But, I read enough about it to know what went on
there. And, there is one very famous quote many people
still remember: "I would remind you that extremism in
defense of liberty is no vice." That was, of course, Barry
Goldwater's defense of conservatism in San Francisco in
1964. Thirty-six years later, the fight still continues.
Well folks, that's way too long to be arguing
with the liberal socialists. It's time we have our own
fun and make their lives miserable. After all, what they
intend to do is to strip us of all that we once called
Americanism.
There's a lot that we can do and stay on the
legal side of sedition, too. We do want to be legal about
all this, after all.
Therefore, let's start by talking about the
Clinton legacy. We don't even have to bring up adultery,
perjury, lying, cheating, obstruction of justice, the China
connection, disbarment, or impeachment to do that, either.
The Clinton administration likes to talk about
prosperity and building wealth. But they lie a lot. For
instance, one need only go over to the Treasury Department's
public debt web page to prove what they say is a lie, using
the administration's own records.
In September of 1992, the national debt was
$4,064,620,655,521. In September of 1999 the national debt
was $5,656,270,901,615. Is that progress?
http://www.publicdebt.treas.gov/opd/opdhisto4.htm
Yet, Clinton keeps saying there is a tax
surplus and they're paying down the national debt. While,
in truth, if they didn't steal all of the Social Security
money every year, there would be a huge deficit. No
matter, though. In his last State of the Union address,
Clinton called for new spending on over fifty
unconstitutional programs -- at a cost of over $125 billion.
Now he's complaining that a Republican Congress will not
approve that -- still saying there is plenty of money.
So, Clinton's a liar. That's not news to anyone
who has been able to see or hear these past seven years.
But, the Clinton nightmare still has a few
months to go. So, we have to be careful and watch what he
does. We also should counter him by continuously correcting
reports in the news. That is, we should all, at least once
a week, call and write a news producer, editor or reporter
when they relate the news improperly. We should also
contact advertisers -- especially local advertisers -- and
ask them to stop supporting outlets that support biased
reporting and socialism. Hit the liberal media in the
pocketbook, where it hurts, in other words.
There's much more that can be done, of course.
So, let's make a list. That is, send in your suggestions
and we will publish a list so that we all can have a little
fun aggravating liberals a little every week.
Because, that's what it will take: a lot of
people each doing a little every week. It doesn't take
leadership or some sort of central command. Often just a
telephone call or a short note will do the trick.
Then, we can get together on Free Republic,
brag a little and compare victory stories.
WHO WOULD YOU BUY A USED CAR FROM?
They are getting good at it now. Very good.
The whole of the administration is in campaign mode again.
Bureaucrats from coast to coast are being browbeaten (and
threatened with IRS audits) into cooperation. The Clinton,
Clinton & Gore team are becoming desperate.
And they should be desperate. Democrats are losing
across the board. Generally speaking, Americans are fed up
with the lying, cheating and obstructing of the sleazy
Democratic socialists. It's time to play "who do you trust"
and the names Clinton and Gore are not even in the game.
Well, in reality, the names Clinton and Gore
still seem like they are in play. That's because the far-
left media support anyone who proposes socialistic programs.
But, get out on the street and ask real people. America is
sick of the Clinton sleaze -- and that includes all of the
Democrats who lied to the people to protect the Clintons
over the years.
Even Dick Morris and James Carville suggest
that the Clintons and Gore shut up and stop whining like
spoiled little brats. And, speaking of Carville: Kentucky
Democrats brought Carville in to help them win back the
State Senate. As soon as that news leaked out, they lost a
few hundred supporters around the state.
The polls show Bush leading Gore by anywhere
from ten to sixteen points. Sure, we would rather that be
a safe twenty-five point lead. However, Bush already has
it locked up in the electoral college. So, unless GW does
something really stupid, everything is all over but the
shouting. http://www.hwsinc.com/poll-804.html and
http://www.FreeRepublic.com/forum/a398ae50519d8.htm
What's the liberal media's reply to all this?
They want action. So, they are causing some. Those in the
media are trying to instigate a public argument between
former President Bush and Bill Clinton
Memo to Former President Bush: Clinton
lies a lot. We all know that. No one -- repeat, no
one -- believes anything either of the Clintons say anymore.
So please, just consider the source and disregard his vulgar
foolishness.
Hillary isn't doing much better than Gore.
Congressman Rick Lazio is seven or more points ahead of
her in the Senate race in New York. Better yet, Lazio's
lead puts him right up at a very strong 50% of the vote.
Which means, just a point or two more and he has that race
sewed up.
This is happening all over the country, too.
In California, the socialist Senator Diane Feinstein is
having a hard time getting reelected over the challenger,
Republican Tom Campbell. She currently leads Campbell by a
few points. However, according to pollster John Zogby,
"when respondents were informed of both candidate positions
on specific issues such as drugs, education and health care,
subsequent support for Campbell increased dramatically."
http://zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=245
And so it goes, all over the country. America
is totally fed up with the lying liberals.
Over in Kentucky, there is a first term
Democratic Congressman, Ken Lucas, trying to convince the
generally conservative Congressional district that he votes
like a conservative in the House. Except, people started
looking at his record and found that Lucas used his vote to
approve nearly every far-left bill that came up. Worse yet,
Republican campaign workers for the liberty minded
opposition candidate, Don Bell, noticed that the Lucas
campaign received a whopping $19,000 from the far-left NEA
and major campaign donations from five members of the
Congressional Progressive Caucus, which is an arm of the
Democratic Socialists of America -- which is, in turn, an
arm of Socialist International of England.
Republican candidate Don Bell, on the other
hand, would be a freedom oriented representative on the
order of Rep. Ron Paul. This gets many of the area's RINO
leadership in the Republican Party a little confused, so
they are not helping Bell.
But, as happened with Rep. Ron Paul in Texas,
the people cannot get enough of Don Bell. Bell won a three
candidate primary election with 58% of the vote but has
done zero advertising since. Nevertheless, when Republicans
did a poll, Bell came in with over 55% to Lucas' 44%.
Democrats ran a poll and found the candidates about even.
Most polls around the country seem to favor -- or
are now building up to favor -- conservatives. Clearly, the
Democrats are in for a bit of a problem.
In fact, just this weekend, there is yet another
important reason to completely reject the socialists in the
Party of the Ass: Clinton and Gore again affirmed that
they approve of that huge annual fine on marriage some call
the marriage tax. By their action, the Democratic Party
rejects the family structure that made America so great.
Anyway, these campaigns will still require a
lot of work on our part. We should all volunteer to help
in a campaign. The candidates need our help to pull it off
with a decisive win. Besides, it's great fun to celebrate
with friends at a campaign victory party.
There's an old rule of thumb honest politicians
used to say years ago: "Look at the candidates and who is
supporting them. Then ask yourself a simple question:
Which of those two candidates would you trust the most to
buy a used car from?"
It most certainly would not be Clinton,
Clinton, Gore, Feinstein, or Lucas.
HEY AL, PASS THE GRAVITAS
By: Craig and Debra Brown [EMAIL PROTECTED]
It's marvelous how the left works. When they
are given their talking points and their marching orders,
they move forward as one, decisively, determinedly,
unencumbered by thought or reason. The same day George W.
announced that Dick Cheney was George's running mate, the
entire corps of Al Gore spokespeople went on the talk shows
to announce that Dick Cheney had all the gravitas and was
giving it to George Bush. They all said it in unison, some
of them even pronouncing it properly.
It was apparent that most of the Gore
sympathizers neither knew nor cared about the meaning of
"gravitas", believing it was something you pour on your
potatoes. Unfortunately, while we might get a laugh out of
the robot-like behavior of the liberals, there is something
deeper there, something much more sinister. This thought
process, or lack of it, that we laugh at, is exactly what
they have in mind for our kids.
The Democrats call it "education" and accuse
the Republicans and George W. Bush of opposing it. But the
Democrat's version has nothing to do with education. The
Democrats have given us "Goals 2000", with the primary
emphasis on conformity and discouraging individuality.
Goals 2000 includes the infamous "school-to-work" programs
that puts a lid on free thought and prepares our children for
work that is acceptable to the government.
In other words, it's indoctrination, not education.
The conservative ideal of education is to teach
the basics, but more importantly, to give children the
skills to think for themselves, to question, to reason, to
seek creative solutions, to be able to expand their minds
until the student surpasses the teacher.
The liberal indoctrination replaces creativity
with conformity, reason with rote, questioning with
acceptance and teaches the child to never, never aim to
excel beyond the "elite" who, by their superior knowledge,
know what's best for the student turned adult. Be it
occupation, lifestyle or civil rights, the student must be
indoctrinated to believe the government knows best.
So, the next time a pundit or elected official
starts reciting the liberal's mantra of "improve education"
simply reply, "We believe in education, not indoctrination."

was hospitalized for major surgery last week. At this
writing, he is doing well and we wish him a speedy
recovery.
