Two summits on globalization -- the World Economic Forum in
Davos,
Switzerland and the World Social Forum in Porto Alegre, Brazil
-- faced
off this past week in a symbolic battle for the planet's future.
Though the Davos meetings were disrupted by massive citizen
protests and
police violence, and the Porto Alegre meetings were a turning
point in
the "globalization from below" movement, the mainstream media
hardly
