Besides, energy is not the only problem. Far from it.

We don’t need to kill off anybody. Even at our current level of
overpopulation, virtually all shortages are the result of political
economics, not ecology. But we do need to stop over breeding. It’s too
damn crowded here already to be pleasant. Soon it will be too damn
crowded to to be livable. If we don’t stop breeding, we’ll have a
population crash. Whatever else we are, we are biological organisms.
When biological organisms overboard relative to the ability of their
environment to sustain them, the population crashes. This always
happens, every time, no exceptions. If we don’t, at the very least,
limit our numbers, it’s going to get very, very ugly, and soon.
