>Hemp is a variety of cannabis sativa grown for fiber. Marijuana is a
variety grown for THC content. They are *different varieties* as you
have admitted. Do you know the meaning of different? It does not mean
'the same'.
It's the same plant. If you grow it for fiber you call it hemp. If you
grow it for THC you call it marijuana.
> A great dane is not the same dog as a chiuaua, even though they are
the same species.
This is not a valid analogy. The difference between hemp and marijuana
is not like the difference between a great dane and a chihuahua. It's
more like the difference between a steer and an ox. If you plan to pull
a cart with it, you call it an ox. If you plan to butcher it for meat,
you call it a steer. Either way, it's a castrated bull.
