If you think this is 100% a racial-biological-genetic issue, then scratch both JI and CI as claimants. BTW, another false lead on biological-genetic claim was the so-called Cohen Y chromosome. The Y chromosome constancy was said to be proof that modern Cohens descend from ancient Cohanim among the Israelites. It proves no such thing. The most it could prove is a single male parent common to all modern Cohens from the distant past. That could have been a distant Ashkenaz or Edomite ancestor and many names in those historical nations are like the Cohen name.
