G'day All !
Phil and John. The information about only one of the
Towers being insured was given out on the media here in Aus the same day
that they were hit......Then nothing more, the subject was conveniently
brushed under the carpet and forgotten about. When they started to
clear away the debris it was stated here again by the media, that it was
found that a large part of the Haulage Companies involved were run by the
Mafia. Once again forgotten about. What bothers me is why one of the
tallest buildings in the world should be uninsured and for what
reason....Incompetence by an employee is hardly a good enough reason as the
Insurance Company would have raised hell to make sure it recieved it's
yearly premium.....Then the Dust as you so quite rightly say John is
definitely an indication of weak concrete.....The obvious conclusion one can
draw is that during a previous building inspection, major faults in it's
construction became evident either in material (Concrete Cancer) or
design....The building was supposedly designed to bend and give during high
winds. Was the concrete unable to withstand the pressures exerted?? Did the
Insurance Company pick this fact up in an inspection and refuse to insure it
???? If so , then the building would have been the centre of an almighty
row and enquiry in which some elevated figures would have
figured.......Graft and Corruption uncovered.....The tower then became an
ideal target for so called Terrorist attack......I'll bet a pound to a pinch
of the proverbial that all previous building inspection reports will have
either vanished by now, or been doctored......Still we'll never know I
suppose.

FYI Ed A long time ago (as a kid) I worked in a stone quarry and we
produced Blue trap rock gravel. Nearly 90 years ago a pier to support a
piece of equipment was made on site. 25 years ago we, the employees there
for one reason or another had to take away part of it. The pier was pure
concrete no rebar's within it. We had to take off only 8 inches of one
side. To do so we HAD to use a jackhammer and drill holes 8 inches apart and
use an explosive to remove it. We could not break it with sledgehammers. We
could not just drill it and wedge it as they do with marble and limestone or
even granet. The point is that if the concrete is made properly it is near
indestructible. One thing that I realized is that no one will listen to
some one of lesser education. I suggested that a test for SALT content be
done and was laughed at. BUT look at the condition of some of the concrete
that is salted to remove ice in the freezing weather. In Connecticut USA
there is a city called New Haven that has a few buildings that were poured
with concrete that used sand washed with brackish water. The places that
were poured at low tide were less affected than the places that were poured
at high tide. There is no ongoing test for salt content any where that I
have ever heard of. A tube of concrete is poured from a batch and then steam
cured in very few minuets then pressure tested for crush strength. It passes
or fails within ten min. of creation and it's the only test used. Here in
Indiana USA they use limestone to make there concrete with, and it breaks
down rather quickly. Why? I'll bet it is due to the salt content of the
limestone. It being a sedimentary stone created under the ocean with great
time and pressure. But I can taste salt in the stone dust kicked up from the
local roads. Just a lot of yakking for nothing, no will listen or has as
yet and I've told a few road engineers this a few times. I think it is a
waste of energy to do the same job more than needed.

Since the tragedy of the 11th Sept. It appears there are
still some questions ref the Towers that have not been answered....Why was
only one Tower insured ???? Would this have something to do with the fact
that the concrete used in the towers construction was not up to
specification???
Have any inspection reports on the towers prior to Sept 11th been
investigated ??
The reasoning behind these questions is that within days of the event, the
Mafia was involved hauling away the debris...Hmmmm. Did their companies
supply the building materials for the towers initially?? Why would one of
the tallest buildings in the world be uninsured ???? Who's responsibility
was it to insure them?? Why only insure one Tower?? The dense dust cloud
that spread out from the towers as they were collapsing would appear to
indicate that the the concrete was substandard and crumbled too easily
irrespective of the accelerating domino crushing effect put forward by the
experts after the event. I don't have any answers, only questions and
doubt's...Maybe Phil or someone else would care to comment being more
politically aware.
