"In 1965, in Israel, while prescribing Thalidomide for it's intended

effects on leprosy symptoms. The same process of deduction was occurring
in Brazil, and the identified beneficial effects appeared to be many
more. These happenstance connections begged for research by
scientists."

saba note:

Here is a group of victims some thought would just go away and note
here:

It was Israel who has tried to push this drug for "leprosy" use and
other uses, and maybe they will pass it on to the Palestinians in they
have not already?

So this Thalidomide is now a miracle drug for AIDS? Really? Imagine
someone taking this drug and what about their partner - wouldn't it have
some effect on the unsuspecting mother or father when their child was
born with flippers instead of arms and legs?

And now in New York and New Jersey they are pushing this stuff off on
the public a designer drug for those with AIDS, Leprosy which is on the
rise, and now cancer victims...

England birth defects way up - what did they expect?

Note - how many Lepors are in Israel? And remember this guy from
Israel who threatenend the Palestinians with extinction by means of
bioloical warfare that would only take out Palestinians but the idiot
did not know Palestinians and Jews have same blood line? At least the
semites or domestic jews and muslims are let us say, brothers and
brothers in laws.

TVAC's Position
Regarding the Return of Thalidomide

Thalidomide Never Left Us
By Randy Warren, CEO

The world is shocked in 1997 to hear of the return of Thalidomide, but
more shocking is the fact that Thalidomide never left. Rather,
Thalidomide became a deep dark secret relegated to testing and limited
use in some countries, and apparently, widespread use occurred in
Brazil.

The full story may never be known, but what follows is what can be
pieced together today.

In 1965, in Israel, while prescribing Thalidomide for it's intended
purpose as a sedative, it was discovered that it was having beneficial
effects on leprosy symptoms. The same process of deduction was occurring
in Brazil, and the identified beneficial effects appeared to be many
more. These happenstance connections begged for research by
scientists.

What are the common denominators in conditions that Thalidomide appears
to be beneficial? Thalidomide appears to display immunosuppressive
activity, slows the body's production of a protein that fights
infections and tumours, and stops new blood vessels from forming. Any
conditions affected by any of these factors have potential for treatment
by Thalidomide.

Diseases that could benefit from Thalidomide use: AIDS, HIV, some
cancers, and graft-versus-host disease to ulcers of the mouth,
AIDS-related wasting syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and leprosy. Many
other conditions and diseases with similar symptoms could also be
positively impacted by Thalidomide.

Around the world, the widest use of 'thalidomide is in treating leprosy.
In Canada, the treatment of graft-versus-host disease was the most
popular use as of 1994.

Due to the widely publicised babies being born disabled as a consequence
of the drug Thalidomide, use went behind the scenes, but never
disappeared. As more studies and testing occurred, Thalidomide regained
respectability in scientific circles, and began the process of
rehabilitation in medical circles. As more and more people began to
suffer from new and old diseases, Thalidomide became an easier and more
justifiable alternative.

As Thalidomide use and testing increased, and as an old tragedy became
new in Brazil, media suddenly caught the story
and everyone thought Thalidomide had recently returned.

Thalidomiders, and our parents never thought to ask the question: "Is
anyone still using Thalidomide?" It never entered our minds as we were
growing up, just living, or preoccupied with seeking compensation.

The risk of new "thalidomide babies" has been there all along. Left
unchecked and uncontrolled, hidden behind the scenes,

Thalidomide could produce a new tragedy and history could repeat itself.
Once the full story is uncovered we could discover that history
continued on the same path all these years in Brazil.
(IS THIS HAPPENING NOW IN THE UK AND WILL IT HAPPEN IN AMERICA AND ABOVE
ALL ISRAEL PUSHED THIS CRAP.....SABA NOTE)

Rather than hiding Thalidomide again, never knowing whether the public
is being properly alerted to side effects, and never knowing what may be
happening to babies, TVAC must ensure that when Thalidomide is
prescribed it is accompanied by full information, full disclosure, and
is prescribed as a last resort in extreme cases, with every possible
safeguard we can devise.

It is wistful now to think of ourselves in terms of being the only
generation... our purpose seems clear, preordained. Our legacy will be
the protection of the public. 40 years have shown us our calling, not
only to look after ourselves and those who may follow, but to always
watch and disclose.

Is our legacy a sad trust? Or does it give purpose to what happened to
us, and for the babies who were never born.
