Let's see, when Arab/Muslim leaders call for pushing the Jews into the sea and destroying the state of Israel, and armies & militias take steps to achieve exactly that, that ISN'T ethnic cleansing. But when Israel bombs/attacks bases of those who've been bombing/attacking Israel, that IS ethnic cleansing. OK, I think I've got it now. So ethnic cleansing is just a matter of who defines it, of whose ox is being gored. So when Israel is finally obliterated, it won't be "ethnic cleansing", it'll be "purifying sacred lands" (which are sacred because Mohammad once dreamt of going there, not that he actually made it). Of course, if the Israelis actually WANTED to achieve ethnic cleansing, they certainly have the military might to do so. Milosevic's gang rounded up tens of thousands of civilians, raped the women, killed and buried the men, and forced the relocation of hundreds of thousands. Saddam's gang gassed and shelled villages, rounded up & killed tens of thousands of civilians, and forced the relocation of millions. If Israel had done likewise, wouldn't someone have noticed? The point of these ant-Israeli diatribes is clear: adopting a moral stance, the destruction of Israel is being call for, clear & simple. And it will probably be achieved, eventually, because it's too small and the rest of the world is too big, and there are just MANY more Jew-haters than Jews. But many more people will be killed enroute to that "purification" -- and it won't happen soon. The Arab states NEED Israel, NEED conflict there, to distract their own populations from their own misery & mismanagement & corruption & repression. Without Israel to focus anger, they'd have to deal with their problems, which would mean giving up power. Bother. Something to keep in mind: Israel isn't likely to go quietly into that dark night. If the West forces Israel to withdraw, or suspends military assistance, without curtailing internal and external attacks, Sharon may decide that his only option is nuclear. Israel would then be destroyed anyway, but it wouldn't go alone.
