Good science is not fundamental? A physicist, mathematician, biologist, that doesn't know the fundamentals of their discipline and of the scientific method would be useless. Physical Scientists are rigid fundamentalists. Would you want a mechanic working on your car that wasn't well versed in the fundamentals of his trade? Any one who is not a fundamentalist in their science, religion, trade, or whatever is wasting their time. Non-fundamentalism equates to half-assed.
