THE DAFYOMI DISCUSSION LIST brought to you by Kollel Iyun Hadaf of Yerushalayim Rosh Kollel Rabbi Mordecai Kornfeld [EMAIL PROTECTED] [REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE TO DISCUSS THE DAF WITH THE KOLLEL] ________________________________________________________________ Re: Makos 003: Valuation of the Kesuvah according to Rebbi Nasan The Kollel wrote: >>The Ba'al has some rights to the Kesuvah (i.e. it is his if his wife dies >>first), and he can get more for his rights in the Kesuvah than the Ishah >>can get for hers, since he is eating the fruits and since he does not >>have to collect his portion from anyone after his wife's death, as Rashi >>writes.<< Neil Blavin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> asked: How does this fit with those who hold that the womans sons inherit her kesuvah? Neil ----------- The Kollel replies: The law of Kesuvas Benin Dichrin only gives the sons the right to the Kesuvah if their father *dies* after inheriting his wife's Kesuvah. Only the husband inherits his wife's Kesuvah, though, while he is alive. M.
