THE DAFYOMI DISCUSSION LIST brought to you by Kollel Iyun Hadaf of Yerushalayim Rosh Kollel: Rabbi Mordecai Kornfeld [EMAIL PROTECTED] [REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE TO DISCUSS THE DAF WITH THE KOLLEL] ________________________________________________________________ Menachos 026: How to read "MINALAN" Michael Unger <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> asked: The word MINALAN in the middle of the daf seems out of place. How is it to be read. Thank you Michael Unger, Zichron Yaakov, Israel ---------------------------------------------- The Kollel replies: I assume you are referring to the fact that the word appears twice: at the beginning of the question (line 23), and again at the end of the question (line 23). This seems to simply be a result of the length of the question; because a supporting Diyuk was necessary to base the question, the train of thought would have been lost without the second Menalan. (The Dikdukei Sofrim does not change the Girsa.) Rebbi Yochanan then answers th e question. M.
