Our SOAP clients. I am not able/allowed to reveal code on that.
I might be able to reproduce an error message, but as I recall the
message, it did not hint to *anything* useful at all

No, they are fully 10g, but now the 10g /lib has three extra .so's from
12c and those timezone files: their 10g installation doesn't care if
there are a few extra files in there. They are just used by DBD::Oracle
