I'm virtually certain that the date for this is summer (August sounds
reasonable) of 1969. I recall turning on the radio about 9 PM to find it
just ending. Indeed it was Weir, Garcia, Cipollina, and Sears playing in the
KSAN studios. It sounded like they just dropped by on a whim. After playing,
they promised to come back the next night. I was ready with my tape
recorder, but they never showed.
