Sorry for the slow response.

By "initial boot", you mean boot of the installer, right?  Could you
send a photograph of where it freezes and describe the nature of the
freeze in more detail?  For example, does caps lock toggle the caps
lock LED, and does the magic sysrq key work?

Do you have logs from a CD install that worked?
