The same goes for Dutch, where the current default is also België (Belgium). IMHO the default should be Nederland (Netherlands).
AFAICT the default is determined by the countrycode field in /usr/share/ languagelist which is part of the languagechooser package. A patch was proposed by bubulle in #260142 which would set proper defaults for most languages. I think it would be a good thing to apply this patch to the languagelist file. Question --- How come there _is_ the default to United States for English even though English also does not have a value for countrycode in languagelist??? Cheers, FJP
