Package: slim Version: 1.3.4-2 Followup-For: Bug #692148 I can confirm the same issue. When I switched init systems to systemd, slim would accept username and password and then just hang rather than starting my session. The slim.log file just says:
slim: waiting for X server to begin accepting connections. I switched to gdm3, and it was able to bring the session up without any difficulty. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.11-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages slim depends on: ii consolekit 0.4.6-3+b1 ii dbus 1.6.18-1 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.52 ii libc6 2.17-93 ii libck-connector0 0.4.6-3+b1 ii libdbus-1-3 1.6.18-1 ii libfontconfig1 2.11.0-1 ii libfreetype6 2.4.9-1.1 ii libgcc1 1:4.8.2-1 ii libjpeg8 8d-1 ii libpam0g 1.1.3-10 ii libpng12-0 1.2.49-5 ii libstdc++6 4.8.2-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-1 ii libxft2 2.3.1-1 ii libxmu6 2:1.1.1-1 ii libxrender1 1:0.9.8-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-1 Versions of packages slim recommends: ii xterm 297-1 Versions of packages slim suggests: pn scrot <none> ii xauth 1:1.0.7-1 -- debconf information: slim/daemon_name: /usr/bin/slim * shared/default-x-display-manager: gdm3 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
