Ah, ok, I was looking in the wrong spot (I was unaware of this change
but did look for an menu, but on the opposite side of the top bar, by
the tray)

This is a case of design changing and my not knowing the new design, so
not a operational bug, but more of a problem of changing things for old
users without telling them in a sufficiently visible way issue (if it's
is the changelog or 'news' that's not particularly helpful when doing an
upgrade from wheezy to jessie due to the sheer volume of changes that
get reported by e.g. apt-listchanges).
