Package: mime-support Version: 3.56 Severity: wishlist Grepping /etc/mime.types turned out there is no entry for xz files, which are now fairly often used, especially in Debian.
According to http://filext.com/file-extension/XZ the mime type for xz files is application/x-xz. Unfortunately the mime type doesn't seem registered (yet) with iana according to http://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/media-types.xhtml#application I tried to read through the document about registering a new mime type, but got lost pretty quickly. Sorry.
