Geotools and geoserver are two widely used java GIS packages which now rely on their own JAI alternative. I believe this may be an interesting alternative for other projects as well:
https://github.com/geosolutions-it/jai-ext JAI-EXT is an open-source project which aims to replace in the long term the JAI project. JAI is provides a set of high level objects for the image processing. One feature of the JAI API is the ability to process the images in a multithreaded environment; this functionality can be reached by calculating each image tile separately. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
