  Programming Lang: GDL (IDL)
Description : Low-level astronomy software for GDL

The IDL Astronomy Users Library is a central repository for low-level
astronomy software written in the GNU Data Language (GDL).
 .
The Library is not meant to be an integrated package, but rather is a
collection of procedures from which users can pick and choose (and possibly
modify) for their own use. Submitted procedures are given a cursory testing,
but are basically stored in the Library as submitted.

The software is written for the commercial language "IDL", but works in
large parts with GDL as well. Since I don't have much experience with
GDL/IDL, any input, help, co-maintenance or even taking over the packaging
is appreciated. Especially, I need to know, which functions actually
work and which don't with GDL. Also, test routines are needed.

The software will be maintained within te Debian Astronomy Team.
A git repository will be created on alioth at

https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debian-astro/packages/idlastro.git

The package will *require* gnudatalanguage. Feel free to start a discussion
if this is a good idea and or if and how the commercial package (IDL)
should be supported.

Best regards

Ole
