Another bug fix release (2.2.2) will be released next week. Since this bug has not seen a reply in the last 6 months, I suspect that you are not interested in a vlc update. So before I go through the diff against 2.2.2 and filter out the uninteresting bits, I'd be nice to know if someone will look at it or if it will be met with the same amount of silence.
