Hi Daniel, Thanks for the report! My apologies for not getting back to you sooner; the maintainer email for Clojure was incorrect so I didn't receive a copy of this bug. I just uploaded a fix for that today.
I would like to package the new Clojure CLI scripts, and have an ITP open here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=891141 However, as you noted, the new CLI has a dependency on tools.deps.alpha. Unfortunately, that package has a very long dependency tree, many of which are not currently in Debian: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=891136 It took me about a year to package a similarly complex dependency tree for Leiningen, and maintaining that package has been eating up most of my development cycles. If you are interested in working on packaging some of tools.deps.alpha's dependencies, I'd be happy to review and sponsor uploads. It would be really great to get this into the buster release as the default CLI for clojure 1.9, but I think it is going to be a lot of work :) Cheers, - e
