Greetings, and thanks so much for bringing this to my attention!  This
one is important and I'll get right on it.  If you can arrange for the
environment variable GCL_MULTIPROCESS_MEMORY_POOL to remain unset in the
meantime, this should go away.  I think recent maxima has taken
advantage of this pooling feature, but the package needs updating to
handle system and user defaults.
