What command line or which graphical tool did you use to install the nvidia driver? Something seems to resolve the dependencies and recommendations differently than in my tests (where I don't see that library installed).

I'll try to make the mere presence of libnvidia-cfg1 but no other driver components to no longer enable the "current" nvidia alternative (which has higher priority than the legacy one).

I just had a problem starting the cinnamon. I had to modify the
"/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf" to get it working
fine. The file had to be like this:

If you need to make modifications, place them in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ otherwise they get overwritten on upgrades.
