Currently, this would break a number of packages. The reverse dependencies need to be updated to deal with both the msgpack-c / msgpack-cxx split (which most have) and also to deal with the CMake config renames that upstream did. The former is tracked by https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1018679 and looks like it's almost done. I should raise the severity of the blocking issues and double check others haven't crept in since I initially filed that. Another round of checks is also needed to see what the impact is for the CMake config rename.
