Package: hylafax-server Version: 2:4.3.0-3 Severity: normal I've been unable to access my server, even from the same host. The logs always show this when I make the attempt: Jun 8 23:05:15 corn HylaFAX[17273]: Access control file not mode 600; access denied.
I did edit /etc/hylafax/hosts.hfaxd as root, and put it under rcs control. This has led to problems in the past, and initially the file had world read access and root:root ownership. I changed these things and restarted, without effect. I noticed the /var/spool/hylafax/etc/hosts.hfaxd was not being updated with the new ownership and permissions. I changed it manually and restarted. Still no luck. I ran a default install, ran faxsetup (and thus faxaddmodem) as root, and edited hosts.hfaxd. I don't think I've touched it otherwise. Unfortunately, I didn't try accessing it earlier. As a side issue, probably the copy scripts (from /etc to /var/spool) should work harder to keep the ownership and permissions in sync.
