Package: courier-mta Version: 0.56.0-2 Severity: minor The matching of smarthost names in the config files "esmtproutes" and "esmtpauthclient" has changed since Courier 0.55. I experienced problems after upgrading to Debian's 0.56.0-1, and found more information here: http://www.courier-mta.org/install.html
The note on the website isn't exactly clear, however. I had something like the following in my esmtproutes: : my.mailserver.net,2025 and the following in my esmtpauthclient: my.mailserver.net userid password Apparently, now the following is needed in esmtpauthclient: my.mailserver.net,2025 userid password It would be nice if this were documented somewhere, in NEWS.Debian or even the changelog, so the next poor sap that gets hit by this behaviour change doesn't spend as long as I did to figure out what exactly changed ;-).
