Package: udev Version: 175-1 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
In version 175-1 of udev there is the following changelog entry: * 80-drivers.rules: stop automatically loading the obsolete sg driver. By doing this, if I upgrade udev from version 1.72-1 to 175-1 or newer, then I can no longer control a tape library changer. The Linux kernel can see the tape library changer as /dev/sch0 with the new udev package, but the mtx package has no way of talking to this sort of device. Nor is there any other package in Debian (that I can find) that is able to talk to the /dev/sch0 device. Therefore, in order to use the tape library I need to use the mtx package which is only able to talk to the /dev/sg* devices that used to be created. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU, LC_CTYPE=en_AU (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- ---------- Jim Barber DDI Health -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
