It seems to only happen when upgrading from 1:7.1.314-3 to 2:7.2.* Even the version currently in lenny (1:7.1.314-3+lenny2) upgrades fine. I had to go through archive.debian.net to get the specific version that fails.
Given that this doesn't seem to be a problem with any version in lenny or sid and that it doesn't affect the etch -> lenny upgrade, I've lowered the severity so it's no longer a release blocker. It may be that this bug should simply be closed at this point, but I'll leave that for the maintainers. 7.1 may be the version that should release with lenny, but if 7.2 is desired, the maintainers might want to ping the RMs. noah
