Great, I'm glad you found a workaround for the problem. Still, it's odd that I did not see it. Earlier you made the point that you would like to use "gcc -m32". So it turns out that the i386 and amd64 versions of libgmp-dev are now co-installable and with both installed, you can indeed compile in either 32- or 64-bit mode! Regards, -Steve
