I believe this is fixed once we update to GNOME Shell 45. I see references in the mutter 45 commit log to switching from hardware to software cursors in that release. If that is what we need, then I don't think it is reasonable to try to cherry-pick those changes to 44. But maybe a more minimal fix can be found. GNOME Shell 45 is blocked because we have been unable to get Magpie into Debian which would break the Budgie Desktop. See https://bugs.debian.org/1050237 I have increased the severity of this bug to serious and am leaving it assigned to adwaita-icon-theme to warn people of the problem upgrading to this version. Fortunately, adwaita-icon-theme is easy to downgrade since it's just a single package without tight dependencies on other things. Thank you, Jeremy Bicha
