How did this "killing" happen? Certainly not by denying them space on Debian's servers. In fact, Mozilla "killed" Netscape because Netscape, Inc. got slammed by Microsoft in a denial of OS support play similar in some ways to what the GR proposes to do: make a partially incompatible version, then yank the carpet out from under the original.
