What archlinux actually stores is the file: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/any/archlinux-xdg-menu/ Clicking on the "Source link" ultimately takes you to the PKGBUILD file: https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk/PKGBUILD?h=packages/archlinux-xdg-menu This specifies a location and a current version: pkgver=0.7.6.2 source=("http://archlinux-stuff.googlecode.com/files/arch-xdg-menu-$pkgver.tar.gz") md5sums=('e4aadc2a05a8e8330c95c22548a4fcfb')
