I ran into the same problem with my package vcmi. The fix I've been using was to add this to my d/rules: export DEB_CXXFLAGS_MAINT_APPEND+=--param ggc-min-expand=5 https://sources.debian.org/src/vcmi/1.1.0%2Bdfsg-1/debian/rules/#L20 Thanks! cheers, josch
