Hi: I have a similar problem with my EeePC 900.
Yesterday, I connected to my home router using WICD. When I did iwconfig, my router was there but with no Encryption key. At the end of the session, I disconnected manually but could not reconnect with WICD. I got an authentication problem message. This morning, iwconfig shows an Encryption key. Cheers!
