Package: libc6 Version: 2.3.2.ds1-10 Severity: normal The problem appeared when i launched Slune and got this : <quote> [EMAIL PROTECTED] duck]$ slune * Slune * Slune lives in /usr/share/games Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/games/slune", line 36, in ? import slune.globdef as globdef File "/usr/share/games/slune/globdef.py", line 20, in ? import soya.model as model, soya.soya3d as soya3d File "/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/soya/__init__.py", line 18, in ? from _soya import * ImportError: libGL.so.1: cannot handle TLS data </quote> NO dependency has changed but libc6, and it was working very well before. Note that i am using Nvivida drivers (but there were no upgrade recently). It seems we fall into such a TLS problem reported here : http://fresh.t-systems-sfr.com/linux/src/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496.README.txt <quote> Q: Some OpenGL applications (like Quake3 Arena) crash when I start them on Red Hat Linux 9.0. A: Some versions of the glibc package shipped by Red Hat that support TLS do not properly handle using dlopen() to access shared libraries which utilize some TLS models. This problem is exhibited, for example, when Quake3 Area dlopen()'s NVIDIA's libGL library. Please obtain at least glibc-2.3.2-11.9 which is available as an update from Red Hat. </quote> I may be wrong as i do not understand this well, but i'm quite sure this problem is related to libc.
