We have a fix for the HLE BDW50 errata confirmed for Broadwell-H, through updated microcode. Broadwell-H errata BDW50 fix: signature 0x40671, pf_mask 0x22, revision >= 0x12 Which would allow us to selectively blacklist only Broadwell with "outdated" microcode. I can (and will) make a major ruckus about this set of Broadwell and Skylake microcode updates when it becomes pratical to distribute them in Debian, but due to the non-free nature of Intel microcode updates, that will fix things for a small fraction of our users, so we blacklisting in glibc anyway. Same deal as Haswell :-( There is also a Skylake microcode update available (dated 2015-08-08), I can prepare an experimental intel-microcode package with all such updates if anyone would be so kind as to test it, so that we can get independent reports of the HLE situation in Skylake. -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them.
