Please elaborate. Alsa does hardware mixing and as far as I know it emulates it pretty good on sound cards that doesn't support hardware mixing. I don't see how you need anything else. I tried using arts as my catch all sound solution but was thouroughly disappointed with its performance. Its a cpu hog. It crashes often. It hangs just as often. It is slow to respond to user input. In short.. Well I already said that.. I go directly to alsa with anything but system sounds. When KDE 4 comes and the sound system gets abstracted out, I will get rid of arts completely. That will be a good day. Anders -- - Debian GNU/Linux - KDE 3.5.2 - KMail 1.9.1 - -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
