the ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II had a long-standing bug due to which middle-button scrolling emulation was broken and was reporting spurious press events. This was fixed in Linux 5.19 (specifically in commit 24401f291dcc) and has been working fine ever since. With the recent update to 6.1.67 in bookworm things are broken again, it seems that commit 46a0a2c96f0f introduced a regression.
