hi. i'm getting a kernel panic when using a serial console. log should
be attached. seems to work fine when booting with a regular console.
(also had this problem with linux-image-2.6.17-1-486 version 2.6.17-5).

serial console with this setup does work using linux-image-2.6.16-2-486
