Well, I prefer using sed in debian/rules to generate debhelper files, from 
some template files with ".in" appended to it.

But sometimes that makes things a bit muddier, and harder for other people
to see. I'm more inclined to write it down in debian/rules and not use 
debhelper for that specific part, if working around debhelper limitation
is needed.
